Still playing the hell out of this one:
Would love to hear a more completed version if such a thing exists.

So what's going on with the documentary?? It was supposed to be released in January and now it's almost May. The word is that they wanted to release on a streaming service but I had a suspicion that the Estate would have a hard time finding a service that would release it because of LN, and now that seems to be the case. They better figure something out because we are getting further and further away from the 40th anniversary date.

We'll probably see Taj's documentary before the Thriller 40 one materialises (and I have next to no faith in that one emerging either).

I hope it hasn’t been ditched, I saw it and still think about it and it’s worth releasing. Maybe they’re just looking for more footage to release. Also, I hope the victory tour gets a release

Even with all of the Estate's problems and somewhat poor track record, the idea of them canceling a documentary that is finished and has already been shown to the public is unfathomable to me. They spent all the time and money putting it together and showed it to several audiences who gave it a positive reception. That should be enough reason to release it. If they can't find a streaming service to take it then they should just do a regular release through Sony and have it available on all the major digital platforms & Blu-Ray/DVD.

The Estate & Sony did fan screenings of an early cut of the documentary in Los Angeles, London, Toronto, Mexico City, Sydney, Madrid, Amsterdam, Manila and Seoul back in November.

The highlights of the documentary according to those who saw it: clips of Michael in the studio recording “The Girl Is Mine” with Paul McCartney, unseen interview with Michael in his office, behind the scenes footage from “Beat It” and “Billie Jean” that we have never seen before, and 4K footage of the Victory Tour.

If it's ever going to be out... Maybe for Thriller 80. LOL.
