Yeah cause they are against the estate Are they? Then why is Jaafar playing in an Estate backed movie? Well Katherine was suing them sometime back and it didn’t work out. Maybe they have made amends we don’t know about, that’s why Jaafar was casted.

Yeah cause they are against the estate They were in the 2016 documentary, but admittedly that did feature the Motown years (can't remember if they were in Bad 25) but surely Marlon, Jackie and Tito could have been afforded a minute or two. Marlon, Tito and Jackie saw the MJ Musical in April (one which contains a song called "Victory Tour (For The Love Of Money) but they didn't say anything bad about it. The Victory Tour wasn't shown in the best light in the doc either.

But that was different as it covered the Motown/Epic years too unlike Thriller 40. Still, I think they would have been more relevant than any other floating head. They could have talked about if his work ethic changed during Triumph after Off The Wall, how they had started performing more of his solo songs, how they felt while Thriller took off and they waited in the wings and then about the Tour itself. The brothers have fond memories of the G Tour (as per their Legacy book) and an anecdote or two would have been nice, but not essential.

I'm not sure that the Jacksons can be characterized as a monolith and every family member having the same opinion about the Estate. Some family members get allowances from the Estate. Some, like Randy, evidently doesn't and it's those members of the family who typically have issues with anything the Estate does. At the age of 94 or so, I doubt it was really Katherine suing the Estate, to be honest. Yeah, the lawsuit was in her name, but I more suspect Randy behind it.

That’s what I was thinking but thought it came out earlier than that. I remember bad 25 more cause I saw it at tiff when spike lee was there

Randy is kind of shady, but Katherine is a fighter too, even at her old age

Does anyone else question the "MJ did not want the Pepsi deal" comment? Has this ever been suggested before? He did resign with them until dropped in '93, and The Estate had the deal with them in '12. Could be true, but Branca isn't the most trustworthy of sources for anything MJ anymore (for me at least).
Also I donr really follow him or what he does be doing but I read that its unusual for Prince Jackson not to tweet about a release. Curious.

As well as Sonic Fantasy, this is a good supplement and again, information taken from here could have lead to a "definitive" documentary. Damien Shields "Thriller Genesis" audio documentary. youtu.be/WMO1FotPCrw?si=hlSThxw7pbYrAkZ-

It's very well known and long established that MJ didn't originally want Pepsi as a tour sponsor. Michael actually wanted Quaker Oats as he wanted to be associated with healthy foods at the time. It was the brothers and Joseph who signed with Pepsi which was where Michael felt he had to follow suit. Michael had a couple of requests - one was Pepsi offer him the highest fee they'd ever done before and the other was MJ was NOT to be seen holding a can, let alone drink it! Basically, Michael liked the money and the record setting that came with Pepsi. And the challenge of toppling Coca-Cola too.

I'd like some insight on why he agreed to turn his songs into Pepsi jingles.
