I've always loved how adorable Michael sounds on TGIM and this footage enhanced his adorableness. π
So precious! π₯°

Walter Yetnikoff, through use of what I'm assuming is the audiobook of his own autobiography, was given more time in this documentary than anyone that worked on or contributed to the album.
That sums up the Estate really, doesn't it.

I threw on the Bad 25 doc while I was doing bits in the house yesterday and watched the first hour. The difference in quality between this and Thriller 40 is actually staggering. Bad 25 is quite well done, lots of input from session players and backroom teams and has a great flow. Its really highlighted how incredibly poor Thriller 40 is to me. Easily the worst of the 3 documentaries by quite a distance.

It's so rushed, you can't dedicate 1 hr and 28 mins to the biggest selling album of all time to discuss it thoroughly. It needs 2 hours or 2 and a half at least.

The big question is, have thriller sales gone up since?

Just watched it. Really enjoyed it.
Not sure what you guys expect, the unveiling of a hidden track we never knew was there?

But taking it for what it is, a lovely celebration of a great album and time. With some great unseen footage and anecdotes. None of us are gonna find anything knew as we've been studying him for decades, so lower your expectations (like with T40 the album) and enjoy 2 hours of celebration.

Thats the problem. It was clunky and weirdly put together, almost like they accidently cut the shit out of it and uploaded it. I wont get into all my previous posts but I found it fell very short from celebrating the album for what it is and the people that helped create it. After having rewatched the OTW and Bad 25 docs over the weekend, the drop in quality was pretty noticable. Its not bad, per say, but I dont think it achieved what the OTW one or the Bad one did, which was leave the music front and centre. The music took a backseat to the spectacle, the videos and the world records.
