I have them all on my old laptop. I’ll have to fire it up tomorrow and have a play through. There’s a track called Slapstick if I’m remembering right? These are a fun set of tracks. Pretty barebones but getting them in decent quality will improve them even more. Yeah, Trouble is good. Hot Street and Got The Hots are fun also. I got Got The Hots from one of the King of Pop French Fan Edition -I think- so you’ve probably got it also. Would be nice to get MJ’s original version of Behind The Mask, although I really like the version on Michael. Yeah, Slapstick is the demo of Hot Street. Got The Hots has an amazing chorus but the verses are just not there. Still, a fun Temperton track. I think the only really bad song of the bunch is Nite Line. I mean, MJ did the best he could, but it's a mystery to me why they even considered this. The writer's demo is truly atrocious. You're right about those demos being barebones too. It's actually pretty incredible what they did productionwise on this album. If you listen to the Baby Be Mine demo it sounds incredibly average, it's hard to fully hear the potential in this song. Yet the album version still sounds so fresh to this day. It makes me wonder what a fully completed Hot Street could have sounded like.

Speaking of those demos, I also find the whole Starlight concept quite interesting. Obviously switching it to Thriller worked out unbelievably well, but I think the vibe and lyrics (as incomplete as they were) of Starlight actually fit the paranoia that's running through cornerstone tracks like Billie Jean and WBSS much better. Even though the music is obviously the same, it sounds quite a bit darker without the playful haunted house sound effects and lyrics but instead with lines like "across the nation there's always people trying to pull you down." It makes me wonder what a somewhat more serious Thriller/Starlight album could have sounded like, without tracks like The Girl Is Mine and Thriller, but with a Starlight or Hot Street instead. In other words, more emphasis on the themes of paranoia and love (or the hope of it) as an antidote. Obviously it would have been a lot less successful, but it might have felt more personal and cohesive. I remember recently a fan talking about “the Starlight album” as though there was an alternative version of the album in a vault. But it did get me thinking that it would be kind of cool, even from a marketing perspective to include a Starlight album as part of an extensive Thriller box set, using the picture of MJ with the Star Wars lightsaber, which I’m guessing was taken with the Starlight concept in mind? I haven’t listened to these tracks in leaked form for years but do remember enjoying Starlight also. I’ll have to give them all a listen tomorrow. If the production of these are somewhat enhanced it would make them really enjoyable. Someone also made a version of Behind The Mask using the Greg Phillinganes version which gives it a gloriously 80’s sounding sheen. I watched the first episode of Stranger Things season 4 tonight and love the soundtrack to that show. Imagine something like Starlight or any of these tracks being dropped in to a show like that?! Would really go with the vibe.

The leaks have to come out officially at some point. And it would be nice to have them in better quality. Although they have released Carousel officially, it's a butchered version. Need the full track.
Not that I'm buying this piece of crap release.

Sooooooo good 😍

Have I seen it?? I started a thread on it at the time back in 2017! I’m a massive fan of Stranger Things! 🤩 Absolutely loved this. It would be a dream for me if they partnered up with MJ again. Season 4 is out now so it’s too late I guess but that show is the perfect vehicle for Thriller era MJ.😎

I absolutely love the later version of She's Trouble, the more polished one (Think it's just called Trouble?" so I'd kill to have this in proper quality. The version I have is LQ but better than this. I think it was one of the first MJ songs I ever downloaded along with If You Don't Love Me and Monkey Business. That's the one where he goes "She only needs to touch me.. I'm in trouble" in the chorus rather than "Even though it feels so good.." right? Those vocals really make the song. I remember downloading that one as well, somewhere in the early 2000s. Am I misremembering, or was the pitch on the original leak off? The original version I heard was quite a bit faster in my memory. Yeah the leak I have is fast and the pitch is high, but it's legit always been the canon version to me!

I've already finished Season 4 Vol 1 and let me tell you - you're in for a treat! Absolutely fantastic season of television. As you could probably tell from the first episode, it's much darker than past seasons!
Very glad I only have to wait a month for more ST than 2-3 years 😂

2 episodes in and it’s magnificent. Everything I hoped for and more! It brings me back to my childhood mate. It’s such a masterpiece. You just felt from the first moment that this season was going to be special and boy it does not disappoint. The 80’s is my all round favourite decade so this is just a total dream to watch. 🤩😎

a 3CD/1Blu Ray set would've been a better idea with a multi disc box set being made available for completionists imo

a 3CD/1Blu Ray set would've been a better idea with a multi disc box set being made available for completionists imo For the biggest selling album in music history? Prince got better deluxe treatment for an album he made well after his artistic peak that he never even released. Logically you would think the best selling album in world history deserves the most deluxe treatment any album has ever gotten.
