I wonder when their going to announce what’s going to be on disc 2?! Considering it won't be out for 5 1/2 months, I'm not hopeful for anytime soon on the second disc track listing reveal unless someone works some magic in the meantime - I'm dying to know!

Although I'm way past criticising these releases, everytime I look on Amazon and see the cover of this with that font, I cringe beyond belief.
I can totally see Comic Sans being used for Thriller 50.

Yes, it just randomly popped into my head. I realise it’s a bit pointless getting carried away in any sense but they say in their press release that it will be “full of surprises.” A Bad25 style bonus disc minus the modern remixes would be great. If it’s half decent a track reveal would boost preorders.

Although I say I’m past caring anymore, I do just sigh when I look at that font. Would it really have been so hard to have put some thought and concept into it?

I doubt there'll be much noteworthy stuff on there considering it's only one disc. Gotta make room for the already leaked stuff and Got The Hots.

yes I hope the estate decides to change the cover after all because this cover is made really lovelessly without much effort because you can come up with more for a 40th anniversary and hopefully CD 2 is really interesting as you say and not only contains the leaked stuff that's been on YouTube for years but really new unheard stuff

Someone posted another fake tracklist today on the Steve Hoffman forum, and to be honest I'd be delighted with it: The most believable tracks are the last 2, admittedly. The fact that there is only 1 MJ composition in here is what shows this up. I wonder if the Estate will get something going with Temperton's to release any songs. I imagine Quincy would not need to be consulted for any tracks, other than if they were to do something with PYT?

This is about what I’m expecting. Already have Carousel and Got The Hots, but hey, would be nice to have the rest in decent quality.

I absolutely love the later version of She's Trouble, the more polished one (Think it's just called Trouble?" so I'd kill to have this in proper quality. The version I have is LQ but better than this. I think it was one of the first MJ songs I ever downloaded along with If You Don't Love Me and Monkey Business.

That's the one where he goes "She only needs to touch me.. I'm in trouble" in the chorus rather than "Even though it feels so good.." right? Those vocals really make the song. I remember downloading that one as well, somewhere in the early 2000s. Am I misremembering, or was the pitch on the original leak off? The original version I heard was quite a bit faster in my memory.

I’ll have to fire it up tomorrow and have a play through. There’s a track called Slapstick if I’m remembering right? These are a fun set of tracks. Pretty barebones but getting them in decent quality will improve them even more. Yeah, Trouble is good. Hot Street and Got The Hots are fun also. I got Got The Hots from one of the King of Pop French Fan Edition -I think- so you’ve probably got it also. Would be nice to get MJ’s original version of Behind The Mask, although I really like the version on Michael.

Speaking of those demos, I also find the whole Starlight concept quite interesting. Obviously switching it to Thriller worked out unbelievably well, but I think the vibe and lyrics (as incomplete as they were) of Starlight actually fit the paranoia that's running through cornerstone tracks like Billie Jean and WBSS much better. Even though the music is obviously the same, it sounds quite a bit darker without the playful haunted house sound effects and lyrics but instead with lines like "across the nation there's always people trying to pull you down."
It makes me wonder what a somewhat more serious Thriller/Starlight album could have sounded like, without tracks like The Girl Is Mine and Thriller, but with a Starlight or Hot Street instead. In other words, more emphasis on the themes of paranoia and love (or the hope of it) as an antidote. Obviously it would have been a lot less successful, but it might have felt more personal and cohesive.
