I just watched Beat It and Thriller and my god are they special. Oh wow.
Now.... I hate to be that guy BUT...
I do think Thriller loses a bit of it's feel being so bright. The darkness really added to the horror element, and while it's gorgeous to see everything in such fine detail, the background of the dance segment looks a bit too perfect.

Yeah I've seen others say the same. It's not as big an issue to me but it's definitely noticeable.

It looks absolutely gorgeous though. It's actually breath taking seeing those 2 vids in HD. TonyR, I think you'd be happier at MJJC. You'd fit right in this past few weeks.

CD copies of Thriller 40 are out in the wild and all of the songs are circulating around now. People are saying the mixing/mastering on some of the bonus songs is very poor sounding. One person said that Carousel sounds worse than it did on Thriller 25, and they are listening directly from the Thriller 40 CD.

What an absolute mess!

Lengths for the bonus tracks (I'm assuming this is based off the CD since the user is reposting content of the CD booklet and such, as Respect posted above)

Maybe it was a good choice that I only ordered the MoFi. Although now for me the issue is apparently whether I'm going to get it (at least on time). But I can wait. LOL.

I also have confirmation that Sunset Driver is exactly the same as the previously released version. The confusion remains as to if the song was written during the Off The Wall era or if it was the Thriller era. The Estate now claims it is a Thriller outtake but other sources say Off The Wall.

I think it's always been confused for an Off the Wall outtake, further amplified by the OTW-era artwork in Michael Jackson: The Experience. Certainly I always thought it was an OTW outtake until recently.
And TBF, the Ultimate Collection booklet did state 1982, but I think people didn't believe it because elsewhere in the book, Unbreakable was listed as a date other than 2001.
Maybe we'll get OTW's Sunset Driver on Off The Wall 45 (please don't let that be a thing hahah)

I think it's MJ the Experience that cemented it as an OTW tune for me. I was shocked looking at TCU booklet a few weeks ago! I've come to terms with it being a Thriller tune though, its 100% Thriller voice
