Another positive review of the MoFi vinyl.

I’m totally fine with Chris Brown’s performance being cancelled. I’d rather he not pay tribute to or associate with MJ honestly. Yes, Michael Jackson shouldn't be used by others to "wash" themselves and it certainly looks like that was Chris Brown's intention. #SayNoToMichaelwashing

Maybe I'm just getting old but I hate when lyrics videos have busy graphics like this. Just give me a plain white text on a black background so I can actually read the lyrics.

This suggests ABC didn't want Chris Brown to perform an MJ Medley as it would be nuclear, given he a convicted abuser celebrating an accused abuser.
It would have crapped all over Thriller and created such a sideshow. It should never have been on the table. Tone deaf.

Cried his way through MITM looking for points.

I agree it shouldn't have been on the table in first place in this constellation, but at the same time I feel this is a Karen move by this guy. Basically he is bragging about how he single handedly shut it down. Meanwhile the show's ratings were at an all time low, so whatever.

This isn't about "Michaelwashing" when you read the article. They would have been fine with CB performing if he had agreed to not perform MJ...

I never know when these shows are on anyway, do I couldn't care less about it.
Also, Chris Brown doing an MJ tribute... I feel like I've seen this enough already, and I don't remember a single one of them except for when he cried during MITM.
Anyway, no harm no foul.

I would have enjoyed this. Chris Brown is far from perfect but I think he’s a great performer and he’s always hailed MJ as the GOAT. Recently he was -ridiculously- compared to MJ and even he found it absurd. I also watched his explanation for his fuck-up a few years ago in his documentary and I felt he was genuine. A troubled guy but talented IMO.

Another positive review of the MoFi vinyl.
I’ve received mine today along with the SACD. It’s on display in a cabinet until I get my vinyl audio set-up sometime in the new year. I listened to the SACD but again, only on a basic HIFI at the moment, although I could have used my headphones I guess. I’ll do that tomorrow. It sounds good though. Without picking apart each track I’ll just say that it’s basically a really decent sounding Thriller. You really hear the quality of each track and are reminded yet again of how utterly fantastic an album it is.

A troubled guy but talented IMO. Not to derail the thread but I would consider his beating and strangling of a woman more than a "fuck-up" but OK. His current explanation also completely contradicts the police report. Not to mention that this was just one of many violent incidents he's had. Karrueche was granted a restraining order against him after he threatened to assault and murder her. If he beat a dog this way and threatened to kill another dog I doubt people would be as quick to forgive him. Who cares if he can sing and dance. Like I said, there are plenty of talented performers out there who can do the same and don't have a decade-long history of violence against women, why not give them a platform instead? I would have liked to see someone like Bruno Mars, The Weekend or Beyoncé do an MJ tribute. Or maybe a dance tribute with a group of talented dancers, that would have been cool. The tribute is controversial in and of itself, there's no need to give the media any more ammunition.
