This whole thread is an antisemitc cesspool. Social media definitely has a huge antisemitism problem. In the past few months I've seen antisemitic shit trend and Twitter only reluctantly doing anything. Also on Facebook I have reported blatant antisemitic comments to which I got the answer that they don't violate Facebook guidelines (the comment told Jews to "go back to Sobibor"). I think this was actually recently discussed in the US congress as well. Ie. that social media platforms do way too little when it comes to antisemitism. I've no idea if these tweets are jokes or what? It's like an alternate reality. That is dark.

It's not a joke. This is reality for Jewish people on social media every day. I see the abuse on Twitter, I see it on Facebook. Supposedly Jews control the world, but antisemitic shit is allowed to run rampant on social media. It didn't start with Kanye either, although he sure emboldened them more. And BTW, it's not just the right. Jews are getting it from far left and Muslim antisemites just the same as well. Jew hate is where the far right, the far left and Islamists meet and shake hands. Horseshoe theory. All ganging up against a people made up of 15 million people globally. About the population of New York or less.
The antisemites in the comments laugh at "you didn't expect this poll go this way, haha", but the poll result and the comments below actually prove the point that antisemitism today is at an alarming level. And that social media platforms need to take it more seriously.

Are Respects posts not loading for anyone else? They load for me, but it probably takes a while because I posted tweets, many with videos. (Videos of anti Jewish incidens)

You know Smooth, I’ll do whatever I want. I don’t need your guidance or permission or a lecture from you but thanks anyway for your input and for telling me what was so wrong about my comment. And I’m not sure why I’m not allowed to talk about cancel culture? When I read the name R.Kelly, immediately cancel culture just sprang to mind because I remember the conversation around at the time. And I completely disagree with you when you say “and there's really no need to hear him out and analyse what he's saying”. There’s always a need to hear people out. Especially people with mental health issues. Like who are you to tell me there’s no need to hear him out? Are you too delicate to have an open conversation? You asked me what my issue was and I responded? Don't see how I'm trying to lecture you at all, just presented my opinions and reasoning. I'd say that's the definition of open conversation. I'm also not talking about his mental health but the comments he has made and why they don't analysing or looked at from different angles. Him having bad mental health doesn't change what he's saying, so why would we need to hear him out in relation to that? Thanks for the apology that you’ve now edited out of your post. “Him having bad mental health doesn’t change what he’s saying.” Well, no it doesn’t. But it possibly changes why he’s saying what he’s saying. I’m not sure why I’m wrong for wanting to explore that? I don’t condone what he’s said one bit. Do I need to express that along the lines of -I think he’s an absolute fucking cunt- in order for you to understand that? Do you not understand nuance in conversation? That there’s different shades and complexities to open discourse? I’m not sure what it actually is that I’ve said that offends you so much and why you’re trying to shut down the points I’ve made -or that I’m trying to make but am clearly failing at- but you seem to extremely dismissive of other peoples points anyway. And just for a little context here as to why I’ve not come in here ranting about Kanye’s comment; I deal with racism being Irish and working with UK criminals in my job at least a few times every month and you know what? I just have to get on with it. Some staff members get very offended on my behalf which is admirable but these guys who target me in that way have mental health issues. One staff member finds it quite amusing and she’s actually the one member of staff I love working with when I’m doing bridging work on those shifts. and I’ve just developed a very thick skin from it. And as a straight white man I’m privileged anyway right? Perhaps one day I’ll earn that white privilege money that I’m supposedly entitled to. Anyhow, I’m leaving this thread now. If we’re going to be resented for trying to see and understand what’s gone wrong in this guys life then as far I’m concerned it’s pointless.

Are Respects posts not loading for anyone else? Final point; this thread isn’t loading for me. Not sure what’s wrong. Yeah I'm facing issues too. It either crashes the webpage or just takes a while for the posts to show up. Unfortunately I think it might be your tweets Respect or the number of them that have been embedded.

Sorry guys apparently I put too many tweets (or tweets with videos) in the posts. Now I deleted those posts an I will just post a typical video of what I originally posted. The original post a bunch of videos like this. Jews being beat up in the streets of Brooklyn, London, Germany - all over the world. The point was to show these are not one off incidents. This is an epidemic and it's a serious, serious problem these days (again).

The other post was lamenting this. It shouldn't be this way that people don't feel safe any. more (or again). Whatever happened to "never again"?

A few months ago an antisemitc hashtag "Jewish privilege" trended on Twitter. Twitter did nothing to stop it, then Jews decided to hijack it and ironically post their supposed "privileges" as Jews. The "privilege" of having to hide their Jewish identity in order not to be insulted or assaulted - yes, now in the 21st century and yes, including in the West. In Western Europe Jews are often advised not to be visibly Jewish in the streets, not to wear a kippah, a Star of David pendant or anything that would identify them as Jews. Eg. www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-43884075Some "privilege". Here's an article about that "Jewish privilege" hashtag trend: www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/how-jewish-twitter-users-celebrities-took-down-virtual-anti-semitic-ncna1233915Oh, and I see good old Christian antisemitism is back in fashion as well. Or it probably never went out of fashion. /photo/1

Yes, this is my experience with reporting antisemitism on social media (Facebook and Twitter) as well.

In all honesty, this thread is what made me sign up for the forums. Funny that. I wanted to address the original question posed. Apologies if this has been addressed already as I haven't read through the entire thread. Parroting "white lives matter" is racist. It's generally said in response to BLM as if saying "black lives matter" is an argument. Nobody's saying white lives don't matter, history has demonstrated that they generally matter more over nonwhite lives. The point is that "black lives matter TOO," and yes while this SHOULD be a given, many events indicate that it's not. I don't see why there is such upset against people of colour recognizing systematic prejudice and speaking out against it. Kanye is in an extremely privileged position as a celebrity, and to spout antisemetic rhetoric instead of sharing solidarity with marginalized groups is very indicative of that.
