As he said "musicians" I didnt take this as being about Kanye exclusively or assume that he was defending Kanye himself. Carry on. We're talking about Kanye in this thread and the subject of his post is Kanye and what he's said, but okay. I'll leave ye at it, I don't really care.

"Here’s the thing; Musician's, writers, people, humans, have opinions on things. We don’t have to agree with or like those opinions" As he said "musicians" I didnt take this as being about Kanye exclusively or assume that he was defending Kanye himself. Carry on. Exactly. I’m not defending anyone! It’s a larger much broader conversation that included Roger Waters.

I wasn’t being specific to Kanye at all! I said opinion(s) as to be more inclusive in response to Respects point as she mentioned Roger Waters.

"Here’s the thing; Musician's, writers, people, humans, have opinions on things. We don’t have to agree with or like those opinions" And your issue is? My issue is that what he said isn't an opinion it's anti semetic, so I don't understand why people's opinions and cancel culture are being brought up, I'm aware the post was partly referring to removal of Spotify data but still no reason to bring opinions or cancel culture up when referring to this issue at all. You can say that someone has mental health issues and also condemn what they're saying and doing as horrible and deplorable. Of course companies are distancing themselves from him. There is no "dark cancel culture path" here and there's really no need to hear him out and analyse what he's saying.

I don’t need your guidance or permission or a lecture from you but thanks anyway for your input and for telling me what was so wrong about my comment. And I’m not sure why I’m not allowed to talk about cancel culture? When I read the name R.Kelly, immediately cancel culture just sprang to mind because I remember the conversation around at the time. And I completely disagree with you when you say “and there's really no need to hear him out and analyse what he's saying”. There’s always a need to hear people out. Especially people with mental health issues. Like who are you to tell me there’s no need to hear him out? Are you too delicate to have an open conversation?

Kanye West clearly needs help and that’s glaringly obvious if anyone took the time to watch his interview with Piers Morgan. Talking about Piers Morgan (and others in the media) I feel there's a responsibility of the media here as well. I feel they deliberately feed this train wreck for ratings. I mean once Kanye said those things, he shouldn't have been given more platforms by the media, but he was, and what did he do with it? He doubled down. Said more antisemitic shit. I feel he's in some sort of manic phase and it's very irresponsible from the media to exploit that for ratings.

It was actually one of my initial thoughts when this whole thing happened! Instead of taking responsibility, the media are perpetuating it!

I sort of felt Piers Morgan was trying to hear him and he gave him a hell of a lot of time to express himself, and you know what? I felt sorry for Kanye. He came across as so juvenile and insecure and over defensive.
I’m not the biggest fan of Piers Morgan but I sort of feel he was trying to help and understand him. Of course at the end of the day Piers Morgan is just another media vulture as well.
It was hard to watch. Kanye walked off the interview and later came back and you could see him trying to find some sense of symbalence in his mind.

I've a bad feeling this will end tragically and the likes of Morgan will have blood on their hands for facilitating him when we was spouting horrible shit in the name of ratings and appearing to "tackle" him, which by all accounts he didn't really do.

Piers Morgan's show is basically him inviting people on who currently look worse than him in order to make himself look better lol.

You asked me what my issue was and I responded? Don't see how I'm trying to lecture you at all, just presented my opinions and reasoning. I'd say that's the definition of open conversation. I'm also not talking about his mental health but the comments he has made and why they don't analysing or looked at from different angles. Him having bad mental health doesn't change what he's saying, so why would we need to hear him out in relation to that?

This whole thread is an antisemitc cesspool. Social media definitely has a huge antisemitism problem. In the past few months I've seen antisemitic shit trend and Twitter only reluctantly doing anything. Also on Facebook I have reported blatant antisemitic comments to which I got the answer that they don't violate Facebook guidelines (the comment told Jews to "go back to Sobibor"). I think this was actually recently discussed in the US congress as well. Ie. that social media platforms do way too little when it comes to antisemitism.
