Only in 2022 could a black man saying "white lives matter" cause so much offense to middle class white people.
I don't get it. What do y'all think?

I think every human being matters and I think that’s the point he’s trying to make. The whole BLM thing was a bit of a scam from my understanding.

as a black woman it is offensive. BUT i understand the point he trying to make. all races and cultures do matter. BUT black lives matter as well. it seems everytime you turn on the TV a black person is kill or gone missing. it seems these cases never solve or throw out etc.
look at the Emmett Till case. that started the civil rights movement in my opinion the black lives matter organization was a scam. BUT the title it's self alone i agree with and very true.
#BlackLivesMatter

MJ said it best; It don’t matter if you’re black or white!

I mean, without any context whatsoever, the saying ‘White Lives Matter’ is fine and seems inoffensive. Of course their lives matter. The thing is though, *nobody* was saying the phrase ‘White Lives Matter’ until the Black Lives Matter movement started, a movement set up because a lot of African Americans felt they were being treated inferior to other races and wished to make a point that their lives mattered just as much. ‘White Lives Matter’ is purely a reactionary phrase that sets out to minimise the oppression and pain that black people are trying to speak out against, and being a reactionary phrase it is intrinsically linked with ‘Black Lives Matter’. So yeah, in that context, it is offensive to the people who struggle with racism against themselves everyday because it comes across as undermining them and their experiences. People can try and claim that they’re merely saying it to promote equality - ‘if black people can say it, why can’t we?’ - except not only was it never really said before the BLM movement, they also don’t really have a reason to say it because white people don’t tend to face the same kind of systemic oppression that black people are more likely to which led to the phrase ‘Black Lives Matter’ being born.
When it comes to Kanye, we need to remember that this is the same moronic fuckwit who tried to claim that slavery was a choice and it became pretty clear at that point that his success, celebrity and wealth has made him far detached from the realities that many black people face in America every day.
I’m honestly pretty fucking sick of hearing about him doing stupid shit like this for attention. It’s extremely obvious that he is currently facing a lot of significant mental health issues and has been suffering for a long time, but Kanye refuses to get any help for himself and seems incapable of having any self-control over his actions. I watched that Netflix series of him earlier this year and the difference between 2004 Kanye and 2017 Kanye was just night and day, and not for the best. The classic saying of ‘you can bring a horse to water but you can’t make him drink it” applies here and honestly, it’s pretty sad to see how far he’s fallen in that regard. You can only sympathise for so long if they refuse to do anything about it themselves, especially when you consistently pull the shit Kanye does. I love a lot of his music but that man has some serious shit to sort out.

The whole BLM thing was a bit of a scam from my understanding. The organisation with that name? Yes, you’re right. The movement or message itself that millions of people believe in? Not so much.

Now, he's threatening Jewish people.
To be honest, I don't think this men is mentally well. It's been so for a while but his mental health seems deteriorating. Maybe he needs to be under some sort of treatment. And he definitely needs to log off the Internet and stay away from public life until he gets better. Are there people around him to help him? I know Kim divorced him, probably his mental state being the reason.

He also said (not recently, but some time ago) that slavery was a choice by black people.

The organisation. The founders stole all the money. Patrisse Cullors sits in a $5.6 million mansion and Shalomyah Bowers stole $10 million! The message itself? I’ve seen instances of it in which its been weaponised where it’s been used to terrorise people. Do Black Lives Matter? Of course they do. All Lives Matter.

People are too easily offended these days. Kanye knows this and the perpetually-offended among us are giving him exactly what he wants. Does anybody really believe Kanye is doing this for any other reason than to get in the headlines?
Live your own life and mind your own business I say. Being offended by someone is a choice and you and you alone are giving that person power over you to make you feel that way. Who's the loser in that scenario?
