Paul McCartney randomly said in an interview the other day that they will be releasing the final Beatles Song. AI is being used to extract John's voice from the demo tape.
I am assuming it is the track "Now and Then" aka "I don't wanna lose you". Paul has talked for years about wanting to finish this track and it was briefly worked on for the Anthology series but was abandoned due to the condition of the demo and George Harrison not liking the sound quality.
“So when we came to to make what will be the last Beatles record, it was a demo that John had. We were able to take John’s voice and get it pure through this AI. Then we can mix the record, as you would normally do. So it gives you some sort of leeway.”

George Harrison recorded stuff for it in the 90s. I'm wondering if they will include that. It seems the reason it hasn't been released before now is because George's wife didn't want it to be.

Meant to post this here before. Apparently he got to hear it and talks about it. Find it strange that Paul would de age his voice, maybe he recorded vocals for it years ago? Who knows.
He gets some pretty basic facts wrong in the video so I'm taking it with a grain of salt lol.

It's 2023. Nobody cares about The Beatles. Most of their fanbase have died out and their corny-ass music doesn't resonate with most people under 50.

George was the reason there wasn't a new song for the third Anthology album too. I would say Olivia is staunchly against it. They were all very well able to work together on LOVE, the disagreements and discussions were all really civil and mature in that documentary. And sorry, I thought you meant they were looking at retouching George's songs for some solo thing. I really haven't read up on this new song as I just want to hear it and see what I think and then read back and see what was involved. We are in such a strange place right now with art and AI. Gareth Edwards wanted to use AI to create a Zimmer-esque score for The Creator - and he did, he just wasn't overly thrilled with the outcome. It's mad where we are. I heard 2 fake MJ songs during the week that would have fooled me. |
