The beatles would probably be the one for me. Just never really got into them. I fully understand how influential they were and all that, but beyond a few songs they're not for me. Beyonce as well, I don't understand why she's popular, honestly.

I think when it comes to legendary artists whose music you don't like, so long as you can respect them for the influence or impact they had, then that's whats important.
Anyway, I guess for me it's The Jackson 5. Yeah they have a handful of cool hits that I enjoy, but beyond that I just don't care for anything they did or their sound at Motown even. If it wasn't for Michael Jackson, I don't think they would've made it anyway. The remaining brothers could sing and played their instruments alright, but there's not much of their contributions that's particularly noteworthy I feel.
I do respect The Jackson 5 and their success of course, but most of that goes towards Michael. His contributions made them what they were imo.

I never understood the appeal of Rod Stewart.
His voice sounds so cracked it's painful to listen to and there is hardly a song over the years that he hasn't ruined.

Those who don't like Queen need to get past the stadium 80s rock and listen to the more obscure album stuff. I've heard a few albums and to be honest, I think it's the exact opposite. They're the kind of act where you only need a Greatest Hits to have heard everything worth hearing.

Never really liked the Rolling Stones. Can't get into Beyonce either, I prefer Destiny's Child.

Janet is not in the legendary category but I agree with you about not getting her appeal or why she shares fans with Michael (let's face it, she doesn't have a fanbase of her own) if he's a billion times more exciting artist.

I don’t think she’s legendary like The Beatles, but she is a icon in her own right in US. In my country, she’s almost unknown outside MJ’s fanbase. In my opinion, some MJ’s fans like her because she dances and has some MJ’s mannerisms, but I never liked her music and her personality seems cold. While it seems the majority of her fans are Mj’s fans too, she has a fanbase of her own even though it’s rather small, this fraction of her fanbase is annoying and insecure always trashing Madonna and Michael.

I kinda feel sorry for them because Janet is totally ignored these days, most people my age have no idea who she is and how she inspired their faves Beyoncé,Rihanna, Britney etc etc. I like Janet as an artist, can't tell much about her as a person. I was never that interested in the personal stuff. MJ is a huge exception because he was truly extraordinary.

I KNOW it shouldn't take it on her but those fans who trash Michael even though they should be aware how much she's taken from him to incorporate it into her work, makes me dislike her even more and how she threw him under the bus after the trial and after he died doesn't help either. I don't deny how influential she is but her fame is mostly USA wise.

Many of you have mentioned Beyonce. I'd add to the list Adele, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay even if they're not legendary yet, they're hugely successful and a few of the most boring acts.

Even if I'm not a huge fan, Beyoncé is legendary and hardly boring. Out of interest, who apart from Michael, do you like?

There are artists that I like their music, Prince as example, but don’t care much about his personal life.
