The first album I remember buying was an unofficial MJ compilation called Dance Collection Being a 12 year old boy I was both embarrassed and mesmerized by the cover. Why were you embarrassed? That cover is awesome!

It is an amazing cover I guess as a kid I didn't wanna be seen spinning a record with a guy wearing a golden thong on the artwork Silly teenage boy In retrospect. It might be his most iconic look

I never think of it as being a thong. I suppose you get so used to seeing MJ in his iconic outfits that you forget how strange some of these outfits really are.

That's true, I watched the Jam performance with a friend. She loved it but was so irritated by his outfit lol

It's not his most iconic look, let alone iconic in the first place (if we're talking live iconic outfits, you really can't top the Billie Jean outfit he always wore). But no, I feel the same as Bedroom did. I've never really liked the leotard/thong look and remember as a teen finding it embarrassing, maybe even uncomfortable too as felt it drew too much attention to his crotch. That's cooled a bit now as I've matured, but it's still my least favourite live outfit. Looks much better when you take it away, as he did for the Superbowl:

Oh The Dangerous Tour intro is his most legendary and iconic moment to me. I do get Billie Jean being a serious contender. But this was after he "arrived" and he is a well-seasoned musician and it's like "I'm Michael f*cking Jackson b*tches"...I never understood why he switched to the blue jacket as the tour progressed

The Superbowl outfit looked fantastic, the leotard is godawful. Worst was when he wears the Smooth Criminal jacket over it.

I LOVE the front of the black and gold Dangerous Tour outfit, I hate the back. If you've seen the fencing suits, they look pretty similar to Michael's gold outfit. The reason why I don't mind the black and gold outfit is because Batman, Superman, etc wore their underwater over their pants. I grew up watching Adam West's Batman and Batman The Animated Series. The animated version looked absolutely badass.

It was his biggest upbeat hits from Off The Wall to HIStory. Plus a 10 min megamix

Not a single, but the first album I bought was NKOTB's Step by Step. At the beginning, all my Michael albums were on loan from my brother. I loved Michael on the Bad album cover and would star at it for ages. Bad was my favorite MJ album as a kid because I was way too young when Thriller was released.

lol Definitely.
The Dangerous tour intro made a statement. I think it's the greatest stage entrance of all time.

^It sure was... so revolutionary for its time, but then again Michael was revolutionary most of the time!
