Adore the fact that both Nevermind and Dangerous are next to each other. Would be slightly more delicious if they were the other way around.

I still follow the UK album chart from time to time and it always amazes me that week in, week out, Numbers Ones is there. Surely they're going to run out of people to buy it soon? Just to put it into some context, as many of you know, I'm a big Tori Amos fan so I was keeping a watchful eye on the album chart the week she released her new record. She promoted it everywhere, interview spots on BBC Breakfast, ITV News, BBC Radio, a signing in London. It reached number 25 and Number Ones by MJ was number 24 that week (with zero promo). It's truly amazing that MJs catalogue just sells itself at this point. Even Queen - argueably the only other legacy act whose greatest hits seldom leaves the UK charts - get a tonne more airplay and had a massive box office blockbuster to keep them in the charts. It doesn't even matter that the estate don't lift a finger to promote MJs catalogue, his work keeps selling regardless. Its undeniable that the quality of the music just speaks for itself at this stage.

Yes it’s just wonderfully incredible isn’t it? We’re incredibly lucky really when you think about it. Other legacy artists estates have to keep creating wonderful product to insure longevity and staying power. But not us thank god!

I'd like new product too, but fans should be proud of the fact that his catalogue is second to none, and the charts and stats reaffirm this year in, year out. I dunno, each to their own, I guess. But it gives me some satisfaction, as a fan. You don't see Prince, Madonna or Janet or even The Beatles and Elvis in the charts like this without a serious promo push.

There’s no need for that type of tone! 😁 I hear you and the fans hear you. Say it once and say it loud! I’m an MJ fan and I’m proud! Prince, Beatles and Elvis fans have a better deal in my opinion. But then I’m a fan of those artists also so I’ve got those deals as well thank golly miss molly. I just can’t help myself sometimes which is bad given that I’ve recently acquired the Off The Wall chalk set and there are instructions with it to be creative so you’ed think I’d be off creating all sorts of great things on it. But no! I still had to whinge despite MJ on the charts! Now come Aaron! Are you not entertained?!!!

On the back cover where you would typically have the bonus tracks listed -usually these type of things come with extra tracks- we instead get a few lines of instructions to “go be creative” 😂 That aside it’s actually a lovely looking reissue in my opinion, and I think I’m the minority of actually liking the Spike Lee Documentary. I think many fans where disappointed in it.

New certifications of the albums Thriller and Bad in England
The British Phonographic Industry, better known by its initials BPI, has just updated its certifications including the album Thriller now certified* 15 times Platinum with the sale of 4,500,000 units. This certification dated November 26 represents only the sales of this album since June 28, 2009.
For its part, Michael Jackson's album BAD has been certified 14 times Platinum since November 26 with the sale of 4,200,000 units. This certification dated November 26 represents the sales of this album since August 31, 1987.
Note for BPI certifications that since 2014 (Singles) and 2015 (Albums), the sales count has reflected consumption via audio streaming and in April 2018, certifications were renamed from the BPI Awards to the BRIT Certified Awards, with eligibility for video streams added shortly after.
*When a single or album has reached the appropriate level of sales as measured by Official Charts, the titles are now "automatically certified" by the BPI. Streams now count for album and single certifications and are measured according to chart eligibility rules established by Official Charts.

One of Michael Jakson's biggest hits in Europe, the track "Earth Song", won double platinum certification in the UK. That means 1.2 million copies were sold in the country alone.
The song was the third single from the1995 album History: Past, Present and Future, Book I, also peaked at number one on the UK's main charts. With this new achievement, the song joins "Billie Jean" and is the second of the King of Pop with 2x platinum.
