It's been 26 years since Michael achieved his last #1 in the UK.
It's been more than two and a half decades since Michael reached #1 on the British singles chart with the song Blood On The Dance Floor.
During these 26 years, Blood On The Dance Floor recorded combined sales of more than 350,000 yielding BPI's silver certificate, the British Recording Industry.
It was Michael's seventh number-one solo single, following One Day In Your Life, Billie Jean, I Just Can't Stop Loving You, Black Or White, You Are Not Alone and Earth Song.

An overlooked gem.

There must have been some kind of shift in the MJ songs on Spotify (In Ireland at least) Last week, Number Ones (which has been quite consistent on our charts since year zero, it may slip out of the top 100 very rarely) was 61 but has disappeared this week only to be replaced by The Essential zooming in to 36, which is higher than I've seen Number Ones in recent years. www.irma.ie/#chartTab2Irish people en masse did not collectively decide to jump from Number Ones to Essential on Spotify. Unless we did?... Essential MJ up to 31 from 36 last week, with no sign of Number Ones re-entering the charts. The Spoitify track info must have changed. MJ's biggest hits must now be re-routed to The Essential rather than Number Ones. That's the only thing I can think of?

Funny old world...🤷♂️ Weird. Surely that's some classification BS and not actual sales. HTW was number 2 for about 4 weeks over Christmas, the biggest selling time of year and was only held from number 1 by Whitney"s IWALY. At the time (before Earth Song) it was his biggest selling solo single in the UK wasn't it? Where as LNFSG came and went in the blink of an eye in an era where sales are crazy low. Am I totally misremembering here?
