The fact you can only choose bi curious and dabblers like Gaga and Mercury shows there is borderline homophobia in your choices. I am militantly gay - not borderline lets assuage the straights with our choices.Anyway Gaga is a lightweight, not much more than a pop squeaker and far too modern for icon status, also she has been invisible since Born this way flopped. Same with Mercury loved the music, but the fact he hushed hushed about his AIDS and the way he treated his gay friends after his death (His so called girlfriend - Mary Austin, kicked all of his gay friends and staff including long term partner Jim Hutton out on the street). Freddie was great, but he was hardly a hero for the gay communities. He even kept silent about his Indian ancestry - trying to pass for white, none of his fans thought he was anything but snow white until his death, trying to be a straight white man, rather than a gay Indian called Farookh Bulsara. If anything he would be near the bottom of my list.
He also had a lot or irresponsible sex, never acknowledging his sickness until 1 day before he died, it was sad and we never had time to mourn him.
An artist is an artist. I don't consider anyone to be a straight singer, gay singer, bi singer. Music is music, but I think you are actively trying to cause a negative discussion based on your comments.
Also, Freddie Mercury was under no obligation to impress you with how he handled his illness. If anything, you are here trying to make out that you are the LGBT expert and that others people's opinions don't hold as much weight as yours. I know you are a part of the LGBT community, but that doesn't make you immune to the fact that you are coming across as quite nasty here.
