aazzaabb Have you heard the album PSB did with Liza Minnelli? It is basically a PSB album with a guest vocalist. Another great album from their 'Imperial' phase!

Good album too! A lot of fans rate it as one of the best things they did. Essentially, it’s a PSB’s album with Liza on vocals. A deluxe edition was released recently. Very mixed reviews. Apparently the “remastered” album sounds worse than the original. Comes with a few extra discs and a DVD. www.superdeluxeedition.com/news/liza-minnelli-results-4-disc-deluxe/

Was it you that suggested 2 PSB albums for me some months back? I remember liking one of them. The other one was very 90s dance music, wasnt for me. West End Girls is fucking brilliant.

Anyone checked out the latest PSB album which is out tomorrow?
Once again the boys deliver. It's like an amalgamation of all PSB eras, 80s, 90s and 00s. Will O The Wisp is one of their best opening tracks in years!

That tune that was on the radio a few months back is class, its a duet with someone Years & Years Another Stuart Price production. That guy always delivers, his albums with Madonna and Kylie were their best work in years and he was born to produce PSB.

I bought the album today. Literally on my first listen now.
Delighted with Will-O-The-Wisp as the opener.
Only 2 tracks in but this feels strong so far. Loving the melody of You Are The One. Very reminiscent of their early material.
Well the first listen exceeded all my expectations which was basically zero. But this album on first listen feels like a bit of a return to form which I’m ecstatic about! I think this may be the best of the Stuart Price trilogy!
I didn’t realise there was a 2 disc version of the album available with cd 2 being the album instrumental, so I now need to repurchase the album and also the Years & Years single.

Russg , Hotspot is a return to form! I can hear a lot of nods to their classic albums and sound. I heard the track Getting Away With It on the radio this morning. A group Neil and Chris worked with in the early 90’s, Electronic. Also Johnny Marr who’s played on PSB’s albums was in this group. I remember wanting to get this album a few years ago but it slipped my mind. Anyway, there’s a 2-disc remastered version of this classic album that was recently released and its worth having as part of the collection. Neil and Chris have a massive influence on the sound of this album. It’s like Pet Shop Boys with guests.

Remind me of Prince in a way, where you naively think once you've got all the main albums that you've got everything covered, but they've got a tonne of work they're responsible for outside the PSB catalogue, they've produced and written entire albums for other artists, plus countless one-off songs for artists ranging from Kylie to Bowie to Girls Aloud to Dusty Springfield. They are truly prolific. Glad you're enjoying the new album. Will O The Whisp was my favorite for the longest time, but I've completely fallen in love with the sound of the main part of Happy People. That sounds very much like what I think of when I think of PSB's songs from the Very and Bilingual eras. Didn't expect one of their modern songs to sound like that. Love it!

So much like Prince in that sense. Casuals and none fans -like I was years ago- just assume their the group who did West End Girls, It’s A Sin and Always On My Mind! And it’s not even tipping the beginning of the iceberg. These guys are amongst the most prolific musicians in popular music. And to come back in 2020 with an album as consistent and good as Hotspot is pretty remarkable. They very clearly know their identity as Pet Shop Boys and their also able to create other wonderful side projects to be experimental and keep their creative juices flowing. For me they’re a better pop group than The Beatles. And I’m a Beatles fan. Neil’s lyrics, the melodies, the ability to still connect with their fan base through new music is remarkable. I only wish Hotspot had hit the number one position to be considered a number one album in the UK. Of all the groups that really deserved it for such a great return to form, it was Neil and Chris.
