I only ever saw them once and that was as a support act to Take That. They were good. The got the Etihad stadium rocking but it was only a short slot on Take That’s stage and it was daylight. I think for a truly authentic PSB experience an arena show is the way to see them for the laser light show, sound and entire fan community. And if you want to buy some merch. This new era might be a good time to see them. Have you seen them live Russg?

Have you seen them live Russg ? Twice. I saw them for the Nightlife tour and was pretty stinkin' bored/disappointed. That said, it's hard to do electronic music live and make it really exciting. I hate to bring up the old, old, old debate, but when I saw Erasure in 2005, they worked it. The live arrangements were pretty similar to their studio counterparts, but the mix was exciting and the PA was booming. It also helps that Andy Bell was considerably more animated than Neil. That was a fun show. I will reiterate that I thought PSB did their best with the Release tour and album. It's a very unpopular opinion, but all it took was an adventurous album and a song-focused, intimate tour to make me fall in love with them all over again.

I love the extended mix of Heart, and it’s a sin. Heart is so funky, it could have been a Bad album track too

Who's better - Erasure or PSB? I’ve heard great things about Erasure live over the years. Truth be told -I believe I’ve said this before- but I’ve always felt PSB’s are better as a studio group than a live act. Try watching MJ’s Bad Tour or a Madonna concert and then watch a PSB’s concert. An unfair comparison perhaps and a different approach but under the premise of “pop concert” MJ and Madonna in their prime were life changing, PSB’s were like a decent night clubbing. They’ve had live moments that I appreciate such as Glastonbury but ultimately it’s both of them stood on stage amongst a light show and screens, and occasionally a few dancers. As a studio group though, your talking about one of the greatest catalogs of pop music within pop. Please to Nightlife is an outstanding run of epic pop tunes. Add Alternate and the Further Listening discs and it’s up there with MJ/Beatles/Madonna.

I’m currently reading the reissue of Literally. I first read it about 8 years ago but I was happy to get the new reissue as my old version was falling apart and it’s a great read. Literally cemented my fandom big time. I also got PSB’s Versus America which I haven’t read but have wanted to for years but never got round to.
And finally I also received “It Couldn’t Happen Here“ which I’ve never seen. I understand that it’s completely bonkers but looking forward to watching it in 4K.

I watched It Couldn’t Happen Here for the first time ever today. Completely bonkers and nonsensical but I absolutely loved it! @innuendo141 I reckon it’s completely up your street. I thought of you when watching it and that you could appreciate it’s aesthetic value. If you ever have nothing to buy but desperately need to spend money this would be a great addition to your film collection.

I'm not much of a reader but I loved this book! Have you read PSB Vs America? That's another good one. I bought the 2 reissues of Literally and Vs America last week. I’ve wanted to read Vs America for the best part of 10 years but bizarrely never got around to purchasing it. It was always one of those “I really must get that book” books. I’m really looking forward to it. This is my second read of Literally. Quite possibly my favourite music biography of all time. I’ve read volumes on MJ, Prince, Dylan, Kate Bush etc but there’s something so utterly brilliant about Literally. I actually read both Chris Heath’s Robbie Williams books as well, Feel and Reveal so I’m a fan of his style but with Literally he really captured something beautiful. I just want to hang out with Neil and Chris every time I read a page of Literally. Just brilliant really. I love how anti rockin roll lifestyle they are and love how they go for tea in nice hotels and shopping. I love the honesty to how they live their lives and that their self assured to the point where they don’t feel the need to concoct a rockstar lifestyle image. It’s such a refreshing take on the modern pop star as apposed to the usual and predictable messed up on drugs and alcohol throwing TV’s out of windows etc. I love how their into architecture, fashion, culture, books etc. It’s sort of like I could go on the road with these guys and have a superb time doing nice things; seeing nice places, eating well and shopping. I’ll take that rather than falling out of a dump at 4am high on coke.
