I'm always a bit sad when the Olympics are over. But thankfully we only have to wait sux months until the next one. (Winter Olympics in Beijing) The Paralympics are on now at least, and it's amazing. Irish and UK coverage has been mostly swimming/track cycling so far though but that's fair enough as both have strong teams in those events, but it's amazing to watch these athletes.

Has anyone ever broken up with someone over social media/text? Not a serious relationship, but a casual one. I still regret it because he let me slam his asshole anytime I wanted.

Has anyone ever broken up with someone over social media/text? My stepdaughter was suddenly dumped by her boyfriend of two years via Snapchat a few days ago, so to say she's devastated is an understatement. He strung her along for the last few weeks and made some pretty big plans with her. To dump someone via social media and text is very avoidant behaviour. A way to avoid seeing the consequences of their behaviour. Relationships require maturity and breaking up via SM/text is immature, responsibility avoidant behaviour. Doing that will sour any memories with the other person. Better in most cases to break up via face to face. If violence and so on has happened previously, then breaking up via SM/text isn't avoidant behaviour. It's simply commonsense safety, really. Has someone broken up with you via SM/text? Or are you thinking of doing it that way yourself?

Can't believe it but my wife is interviewing Tori Amos this afternoon. Anyone who knows us, knows what huge fans we've always been, so this feels very very surreal for her and even me.

Congrats to Liberian Girl. Meeting the very people you've loved, looked up to for years or even decades, whose work in the arts or entertainment has given you so much joy must be the biggest dream to come true.
Speaking of meeting your heroes, Johnny seems to be one of the sweetest celebrities you could ever meet. No matter if Amber Turd damaged his career and reputation out of lies to advance her "career" or if woke Disney kicked him out, Johnny is Jack Sparrow and he's still loved.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. It went really well, she was super friendly. I was a bit nervous as they say "never meet your heroes", but I needn't have worried. We spoke for about 30 mins, and she was very easy to talk to. Felt very surreal considering how long I've been a fan. I was surprised how candid and open she was, she really wears her heart on her sleeve, she opened up about Covid and how depressed she felt during lockdown and for one moment I thought she was going to start crying. She didn't, but she really opened up to me which I wasn't expecting at all. At one point she said "I'm telling you this, because I can just sense you 'get it.'" Inside I was trying not to combust, but I couldn't have wished for it to have gone any better. She was everything I hoped she'd be, warm, compassionate, quirky, empathetic. Once the interview gets published I'll show you all
