2005's Chaos and Creation In The Backyard has some pretty good tracks on it, I know many fans like that one, myself personally I quite like Jenny Wren and Ride to Vanity Fair but I need to sit down and give this one a proper listen. Please do, it's a lovely album.

Yeah, I think he's definitely still got his melodic touch (this is evident by Egypt Station - which is a pretty good album) but I wasn't really feeling any of these tracks. Maybe I'll give them a replay sometime. I believe they're primarily from the Egypt Station sessions though, he's released quite a few extra songs from there... on like three separate occasions I believe. At the beginning of the year, a few months ago when he did a collectors 'Explorer Edition' and yesterday so they must've been really productive. You're probably right, there was a five year gap between New and Egypt Station so these recent songs most likely came from the same recording sessions. We can only guess what he's been working on since then. My guess is that he's still got a few tricks to turn. But if not I hope that he completes the remastered/reissue series, I've really been enjoying rediscovering his work. Oh yeah, there's lots of interesting stuff he keeps digging out of the vault. I obviously REALLY enjoyed the 2015 remix of Say Say Say that used previously unheard vocals from the two of them, was literally playing it over and over the other day. Wild Life's reissue has this really beautiful song called When The Wind Is Blowing which I love playing at night when I'm lying in bed, getting ready to sleep. It's so gently played, and I really love the melody.
What's cool is that that song didn't even see the light of day until last year, but Paul used the melody with Kanye West in a song a few years back called All Day. I thought it was pretty cool to see how a musician can hold onto a melody or idea for years and years, then later incorporate it into something that isn't even close to their original demo. Kinda like how MJ used to sit on tunes for years until they felt right.
I've seen fans (with better knowledge of his unreleased material) discussing there's still a good amount of unreleased material from the vault - but Paul's quite the businessman and it wouldn't surprise me if he's setting some material aside for when he's gone. It's only fans discussing so who knows how much truth there really is, but it is interesting if there is truth to it.

^ I don't remember making that post! I must have had a lapse.
There's so much unreleased Macca on YouTube it's ridiculous.

Lennon has been a constant figure in my life and his solo material just speaks to me. A flawed man of many contradictions I guess? I donโt know, I donโt hold these grudges. I like my humans to be flawed, imperfect and storied, and willing to own who they are, mistakes and all and work towards change and growth. Julian Lennon has made peace with his fatherโs failings a long time now. At the end of the day these were just 4 average guys in a band, and they would be the first to say that. They werenโt born on Krypton. I do respect McCartney and obviously I love The Beatles. To create what they did in such a tiny space of time and the legacy theyโve left is just astonishing.

To be perfectly honest with you, I have compartmentalized Madonna into two different people. One was this sassy, provocateur who loved ruffling peoples feathers and helped to create some of the best pop music of all the time. The other is this woman I don't recognise, whose music has become increasingly pretentious and has form for ripping off fans and treating them with contempt. That woman is a vile money-hungry hypocrite who I am full of contempt for. Sometimes the real Madonna shows that she's still alive, but mostly Faux Madonna has taken over.

Yeah, I thought the deluxe edition was expensive... then I saw the $600USD collector's edition ๐ต๐ต๐ต (IDK how much those 4LP's included would be worth, but aside from that the extra contents is really not worth the extra money IMHO, but I already saw one fan on Steve Hoffman forums saying he preordered it so clearly there's some market).
Still. Compared to that horrendous $479 This Is It box, you can pay $255 less for the Flaming Pie deluxe edition and the amount of new material you get is incomparable. I know this has been said before, but literally watching this video unfold all I could think about is how amazing it would be if just one of Michael's albums was given this care and passion. The Estate could learn sooooo much from the way Paul and his team are handling his back catalogue.

Its my 2nd favourite Maca album, I do love this one.

Its my 2nd favourite Maca album, I do love this one. I still need to play it properly! I think I played through some of it once, but this new remaster will be the perfect opportunity to sit down and give it a whirl. I'm a huge fan of Macca, but there's still a good amount of his catalogue I'm not rushing to get through. I'm enjoying pacing myself out and finding new material overtime.
I really do love Somedays though. I first heard it on a fan mashup called Everyday Chemistry. Not sure if you've heard of it, but it has this fun wee backstory to it that it's from an 'alternative dimension' where the Beatles never broke up, and a tape of their work was stolen from there and brought back to our dimension. In reality, it's a fan mashup of their solo works, but it does have a couple cool highlights - particularly the first track Four Guys and the song Anybody Else, the latter of which samples Somedays.
What's your first favourite Macca album? I'm also hoping they remaster Back to the Egg soon.
