Every re-pressing regardless of format uses the censored version. Did you buy the original vinyl in '95 aswell? No, my parents bought the original CD in ‘95 (I enjoy it’s clear wear and tear actually - suggests my parents got lots of use out of it!). Wish I had a copy though, would be nice to display. Hell maybe I will one day!

Now I've received no email back from the email I sent responding to them saying they could only replace two of them. Their customer service is actually shocking I'm sick of them ignoring me.

Also, they were trying to tell me that they hadn't received the pictures (the second time they've done this) and then when I pointed out that I had already received confirmation that the pictures had been looked at they suddenly had them.

Why dont you just get a refund and replace the dodgy ones elsewhere, they seem to have all in stock other than Thriller.

Nice HUGE booklet inside though.

They told me they only have off the wall, bad and dangerous in stock and even then they weren't willing to give me off the wall because it's in "limited" stock. How the hell is that my problem?

I mean, what I said about the re-pressing is true though. But yes I love that about vinyls! I wish it was standard, especially with their high prices these days it really should be. Only vinyl I’ve ever owned that had that is Lorde’s Pure Heroine (though I haven’t had a big collection. At some point it was probably 20-30 vinyl?).

I know I was being sarcastic was just defending my long-term status LOL, i remember the fuss that brought about the edit and knew all pressings were edits. But wondered if there may of been a change of stance with the picture discs

You might have to just chalk it up to experience and just don't buy from them again. I can understand the frustrations with cosmetic damage but would never of expected great, error free audio quality.

So I am getting bad, dangerous and thriller replaced. No off the wall left though apparently. The person that emailed me implied that they actually had to go looking for a copy of thriller for me as well haha.

My replacements arrived, haven't actually played then but dangerous and bad don't have any bends that I can see, thriller does have one though but it's much better than the original one and I can't be arsed emailing for weeks to get one replaced again.

So what’s the verdict on these? I’ve seen the box set in HMV but am not overly tempted. They do look nice though.
Smoothgangsta, what’s Vincy like in comparison to the MOV version?

Don't buy it if you actually want it in pristine quality. The quality control is shocking. Invincible sounds pretty bad compared to the others in the set so I wouldn't get it if you're looking for sound quality and the mov probably sounds better. I did think the other albums sounded surprisingly good for picture discs though (I've played them once all the way through, they may not told up to repeated listens). The artwork is great imo and is really the main reason to buy these. Good luck getting one without bent inserts or scraped discs though. As the previous posts in this thread have indicated it really hasn't been a reliable release at all in terms quality control.

I take your point though. By now everyone and their dog knows my feelings on the MOV. 😎 But yeah if I was purchasing this boxset it would be specifically for the artwork. I might possibly play them through once but in my experience picture discs are never really a go-to for listening. IMO this is an art collection. I've had a read through the last few page's here mate. You've not had a good experience with this and been jerked around which is not on when your paying serious money for this set. Disgraceful the way you've been brushed off. For me nothing beats my ancient battered original pressing of Off The Wall in terms of sound. This is a beautiful looking set no doubt and it pains me to say that I might buy it at some point because I really don't want to pay out for all of this music again with nothing extra. But it's for the artwork I guess, just hard for me to justify paying what it costs. It's sold out now on the official site so it's had successful run I guess.

Isn't the artwork the most appealing thing of picture discs? They aren't known for having good quality of sound because of the pressing and they also have less vinyl.
