Sort of getting to know someone yeah That’s cool you met for thriller 25! I still remember buying it and loving the remixes without fergie the fungus I hope they like MJ! The one thing I’ll say about T25 is that I really like the packaging. I’ve got 3 or 4 different variations of the CD. Some new vocals from MJ was also nice.

General question; Do you consider Blood on The Dance Floor an album, an EP, a maxi disc or a compilation with some remixes tagged onto the end of it? A few years after MJ departed I began to consider it as an album. Obviously it’s not technically an “album” but it was marketed as a remix album. Where does it fall exactly? Is it something that could be included amongst say an album ranking? It's an album to me. Obviously it's difficult to rank it alongside the others, seeing as it only has 5 original songs, but as someone who quite enjoys remixes, I have no problem viewing it as a complete album. With just a few changes, it could've been listenable from beginning to end as there's quite a lot of great HIStory era remixes that didn't end up on BOTD (mainly the ones commissioned for the US market). But even with what we did end up with on BOTD, there's at least 4-5 all out bangers in terms of the remixes. Added to the 5 original new songs, that's a solid 9-10 tracks of good music in my eyes. This is really what I wanted to hear. I share your opinion. I love every one of the 5 originals, including Superfly Sister. I love 3 of the remixes and can live with most of the other 5 for nostalgia. So I’ve got 8 reasons to love this release. Thriller is only 9 tracks and I can live without The Girl Is Mine, so that’s the same amount of reasons. Heck, Victory only has 8 tracks in all and less than half feature MJ! Okay, you’ve convinced me. It’s an album!

Me too, it would be very nice though I once dated an obsessed fan who was a total creep and narcissist. He would talk to mjs picture, even I haven’t gone that far and I’m a superfan. It’s not the most important quality to have anymore, as long as they’re a good human being, not prejudiced and have their own interests that I like too, so we can share them I remember my moms friend wanted to borrow thriller 25 from me to make a copy for himself and his daughter, it came out at a good time.

I seriously didn’t think of it as a real album, and like an extension of the HIStory era,l. Other 80s and 90s artists had remix albums too, so I treated this as such with botdf Janet’s Control: The Remixes is superb! I love that one.

I’m a superfan as well I guess -I like that term, superfan- but I’m into tons of other stuff too. Music, art, books etc. You’ve got to have a healthy balance in life. My wife is much more of a casual fan these days and is also into lots of different things. It’s a bit weird when a person only has one relentless obsession and nothing else going on. There’s a whole world out there.

When he died I took it beyond hard and it took me a good six months to begin to wrap my head around it but there was definitely extreme grief and sadness at losing him. MJ got me through some extremely tough times growing up. He was a constant source of happiness and comfort for me. I didn’t think he could actually die. That was such a sad time. And later hearing the premier of Breaking News felt like such a kick in the teeth.

So I get it, but that dude I dated was just so extra, you know? And saw me as an extension of himself and I wasn’t that. It took me longer than 6 months and I needed therapy, it took a few years where I cried every day, but it went down after the Murray trial I have to admit though, I feel a bit abandoned by mj though that could be projection on my end. I feel like he chose the risk of propofol over his kids and fans sometimes, though I don’t want to blame him at all cause I still love him the same, but feel fomo from not seeing him in person when it almost happened when I got this is it tickets

Actually many of us in the fan community have had difficult relationships with parents in our upbringings so we sort of had MJ to lean on as a sort of surrogate father. Yes, real grief really hurts your heart. I didn’t realise that the term heartbroken actually meant that your heart felt physically broken. I hope you’re feeling much better these days. I watched every minute of the Murray trial but didn’t feel it really resolved anything. Perhaps a little bit of closure. I found This Is It quite difficult to watch and still do to this day. Again, it felt like a little bit of closure. Personally I never felt that MJ abandoned us, more that the world failed him. But everyone’s feelings are so personal and complicated to themselves so you definitely have a right to your own feelings in that sense. Personally I just feel that this world is way too cynical towards anyone who try’s to be a beacon of love, hope and positivity. People are conditioned and brainwashed into disdain and being dismissive through a need of needing to be seen as “Mr and Mrs Superdooper Independent” and “killing it” and “being a beast” and can’t show compassion or be empathetic because it’s a sign of weakness nonsense. And then when they do attempt to show empathy it comes across as contrived and fake for clicks and likes, and an XFactor American Idol number 1 etc. Everything is driven by capitalist self interest. Lol, gone off on a weird rant now. But yeah, that dude seemed way wrapped up in his own BS. You dodged a bullet.

So true, I’ve seen many over the years talk about lack of love and abandonment they faced. I guess cause he had a difficult upbringing, I related to that too. Nice to know I’m not alone with that.
I still think about his death everyday, but I don’t cry anymore though I did cry when I saw mj one in Vegas when they showed the hologram. Have come a long way since for sure, and grateful for that cause I was so heartbroken and had lost hope in humanity for some time. People were so fake when he died and I was angry instead of happy they were enjoying him. It’s like, where were they when he was alive?
