I have seen the Madonna one some time ago and I remember them being less enthusiastic about her as well. The only other that they were similarly enthusiastic of as about MJ was Queen, I think. Reminds me, yesterday when I was taking one of the guys I support out for a drink, I saw a little boy, must've been no older than 6-8, same age as my son, dressed head to toe in MJ Billie Jean outfit, fedora, sparkly jacket, the works. He looked so cool. Can't imagine seeing any kids that age in public dressed as Prince or Madonna. Or any modern popstar for that matter. I always point that type of stuff out. To go back in time a bit; I grew up in the Thriller era. Everyone and I mean E V E R Y O N E dressed like Michael Jackson. They sold Beat It and Thriller jackets in with the regular clothing at department stores. Grown men and women walked around everywhere in those jackets and/or with one glove on. These were REGULAR people, not just kids / pop music fans. EVERYONE had Michael Jackson stuff in their house. My grandmother, who was.....let's just say......from the south in the US (if you know what I mean), had the poster of MJ in the yellow sweater on her living room wall. Think about that for a minute. Her favorite artist was Sinatra, but she had no pics of him in the house yet she had the poster of a black man on her living room wall. SOME kids attempted to dress like Prince. SOME kids and pop fans (mostly women) tried to dress like early Madonna looks but E V E R Y O N E dressed like Michael. Fast forward to today and you still see it. His looks & style are still being emulated today and like you said, there's not one other artist with that affect on people today. Period. His music is so powerful, it changes every room. My wife and I go out A LOT and we take over the jukebox nearly everywhere we go. Sure, people know other songs and artists but the universal thing is MJ. Whenever we play MJ, which is often, everyone in the place knows whatever song we play. Heads start bobbing, toes start tapping, people start smiling. Those are some of the many reasons there's no "next Michael Jackson". There's Michael Jackson and then there's every damn body else.

Which is why I love this song so much. We don't talk about it enough.

I never really understood why the Arvizos felt the need to make up that elaborate kidnapping conspiracy. I think it was to explain why they defended Michael against these allegations on tape? But they could've just said they felt pressured or whatever. Instead they came up with this bizarre kidnapping story that no one in their right mind would believe. Didn't they say Michael was going to take them to South America in a hot air balloon? And that they were not allowed to know the time even though there are clocks everywhere at Neverland? And they went on shopping trips without Michael during the time they were supposedly kidnapped? It's such an easy thing to disprove and really hurt their credibility.

After the discovery of the rebuttal tape it would have been really hard to sell that it was made under duress. They are seen laughing, cheerful, that's clearly not a family under duress. But then the conspiracy is equally idiotic. Especially when there's evidence of them making visits everywhere (Janet's boyfriend, doctors, lawyers, court etc) during their supposed kidnap. Well, I guess we should be glad that they were not particularly smart liars.

And it proves that Janet in particular had no qualms about making up false allegations of abuse and involving her children in her scheme. There are some people who truly and genuinely believe Michael was a pedophile. But I think many people in the general public simply aren't aware of the actual allegations and the accusers' backgrounds. Stuff like this is barely even talked about outside the fandom.

Only just realised today that Patrick Treacy is from County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland which is to the west of where I'm from (County Down).

Nope, he believes that Michael changed his skin. He also thinks Michael abused children. Michael doesn’t need anymore biopics.

The fact that someone who believes Michael did bad things and wants to make a movie about it is making my stomach churn. If someone really wants a biopic that makes Michael look (potentially) guilty, they should watch that Flex Alexander one.
