Personally i think you can go by the old saying of will people know or be playing these artists music in 50 years.and in most cases with artists from the 2000’s,bar very few i think the answer will be no as most are pretty mediocre and tend to blend into one with other artists who are of a similar standard/style.

I think both her and the music are exceptionally bland, even her live performances are bland af, she has like no charisma at all.
I'm seeing a lot of people saying the same things since her new album came out as well.
Seems the bubble has burst when it comes to common opinion tbh.

Yeah, I was surprised that her new album got some bad reviews. What happened? It's unusual at this age for the media to go against a highly popular artist like her. Regularly neither Taylor or Beyonce can do wrong for the media, so it was surprising to see how this time some reviews broke that rule. (Some others though were kissing her butt as usual and as required. Rolling Stone, for example.) I was wondering if Jay-Z is moving his media connections because he seems to be pressed for that Album of the Year Grammy for Beyonce. Nothing in this age seems genuine or organic in the media to me. But also many on social media suddenly realized she's not all that even as a lyricist which always was cited as her strength. That her lyrics are high school level. I don't know what took so long to realize that, though.

This. Its easy to be breaking streaming records when you have mass publicity campaigns and the backing of the industry behind you (not to mention streaming bot farms). The test of her impact will be measured in whether she retains impressive numbers and interest in her music once the hype dies down. People have short memories. Janet was ruling the world once, now there's little to no interest in her music beyond a few hard-core fans.

Streaming makes everyone appear big ( well most people!) its to easy nowadays to cling to such figures when they are so easy to create. when in reality it cant compare to actual physical sales. Getting off your backside and actually heading down to the shops. The two for me can never be compared

I've heard him tell this story before but not in so much detail. Very funny. I'm glad he was there for Michael in his time of need.

^^ I know this is the stuff of fairytales, but I think this video was really well executed and shows how amazing WII could've been live. Although they should've made more of the beatboxing at the end. Oh, if only... How brilliant is this?! Amazingly done. Imagine this in real life.

I bet you’ed have given him money, given him time, given him everything inside your pockets could find for this performance.

Well, it doesn't seem to matter but it doesn't seem right that this never happened. This or a 12 minute version of Working Day and Night. Mmm, let me think. "We're gonna do the old songs, the old fashioned way." No, Michael, your new album has sold 30 million and contains the best stuff you've ever done. How's about singing that.

Plus: Director: "Where you gonna get the blue plastic pants from?" Michael: "I'll borrow them from my decorator."

The decorator is suing the estate for Michael not returning the pants and Justin Timberlake is going to play him in the biopic.

Michael had Michael Bush turn the pants into the blue shirt he wore for the 30th Anniversary shows.

What’s going to happen for this film they’re making, this biopic thing, will there be new music released or just a soundtrack/greatest hits? Surely they will include some new tracks?
