I have the same opinion of Will You Be There. I think everything about it is absolutely perfect. It's far and away my favorite song of his. Admittedly, I'm drunk Russ. But I like you and everything you stand for. Well I'm stone cold sober right now, which is rare, but I like you too.

The Michael Jackson story; the most complicated, exhausting, mind numbingly intricately nauseatingly sleep inducingly nightmarishly mind fuckary of all time.🤪 Well, hopefully you're not writing the tagline for the new movie. It's really quite something that MJ has any fans left at all at this stage. And that's absolutely no commentary on the man himself, but following him as a public figure just exposes you to a never-ending minefield of fuckery from the very worst of mankind. Billie Jean is great and all, but when does it stop being worth it? DISCLAIMER: Joking around before anyone gets bent out of shape.

My friend is a huge Bryan Adams fan and he says he has the same sort of stories, rumours, lawsuits and allegations every week. The worst sort of allegations you could imagine, absolutely disgusting shit. But he has a great team behind him so it all gets hushed. Plus of course, he's white, which helps.

If he can survive the Mel C duet he can survive anything.

I’ve said this before and I believe it; we haven’t chosen this, it’s chosen us. We are pretty much the chosen ones because the people who walked away years ago are not emotionally involved on the level we are. All of us here are very involved and a big part of our personalities are wrapped up in being an MJ fan. The mind fuckery has become a self fulfilling prophecy and seems to be part of the deal. The past 30 years been insane and in a weird way adds layers of intrigue onto the mythical status that MJ has reached. Heck, he was a mythological figure in his own lifetime. How many others can we say that about?

“He's a damn mega artist. One hundred percent authentic. He's the only man I've ever met who isn't fake. I grew up with the Jackson Five. I loved the Dancing Machine. We became friends from the moment he let me do what I wanted. He just set a framework for me and I was completely free to move within that framework. I often wondered how it would turn out, but in the end it was great. Michael is very gentle. He has a sense of humor and is sarcastic. People often ask me if that's bizarre. Let's assume he's different. But having grown up in show business, I know very well what it's like to be bizarre. I have to say that working with Michael Jackson is not like working with a rock rebel star. One day I came to play with him and he came with Brooke Shields. I had a cigarette butt in one hand, a bottle of whiskey in the other and a guitar around my neck. Michael made fun of it and took me as I was. That's why I like him.”

How many others can we say that about? Do you know what's really amazing? If I reflect on it all, taking into account all the shit, the allegations, the trial, his death, the posthumous allegations, Leaving Neverland, the Cascio crap, and ask myself "was it worth it being an MJ fan?", the answer is still a resounding yes without a moments hesitation. And yes, it's a testament to how incredible his talent was, but also - and perhaps more importantly - it speaks to how unique and brilliantly singular/inspiring he was as a human being. Of course it helps that I believe in his innocence too, but I think with any other artist, myself along with the rest of the fanbase would've bailed decades ago, innocent or not. The fact that he has this core army of supporters after everything that's been thrown at him is truly incredible and speaks to a deeper, more profound connection to the man than merely "loving the music."

Lauren & I just tried "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" on karaoke for the first time ever. It didn't go as poorly as we anticipated 😂

“He came on stage with a group of dancers, all in their 20s, but you couldn't take your eyes off him.
A lot of his songs have six or seven parts, and he would often come up to us when we were missing an important note in our mix and sing through all the parts in fast-forward to show us what he wanted. We would sit there with our mouths open - it was amazing. He could still do everything.
The only difference was that sometimes he would talk about it hurting him.”
This time we had the technology to isolate just his microphone and hear his vocals separately from everything else. I had no idea what a genius he is. The way he can use his voice as a percussion instrument, lyricist and jazz singer at the same time. I'm sure when people go through his work in the years to come, they'll discover how much there is in it.”
~ Dorian Holley, vocal coach TII
"We're here to spread a message of love and caring for the planet, that we want people to understand that it's very, very precious and that they shouldn't take it for granted.” - MJ
