I cannot believe there hasn’t been a high quality/ prestigious documentary made about MJ’s life yet?
I know we got those Spike Lee album docs and the recent underwhelming Thriller 40 doc.
But my god, what an amazing opportunity it would be for the estate to collaborate with a great filmmaker and put together a documentary about his whole life with all their unseen and rare footage of Michael throughout the years. UGH!
I know the main goal of this upcoming biopic is to humanize him, and to usher in new fans, but I know if I had the option between movie and documentary, I’d pick doc a million times over. Just because it’s such a gamble making a biopic, it’s impossible to please the fans, the general public, AND the critics. Michael is so fascinating just on his own, and had such a rollercoaster of a life that needs no exaggerated creative license for added drama, and we know he filmed damn near EVERYTHING.
It’s just a bummer that it hasn’t happened yet in these 15 years after his death. But, who knows, if all goes well, it’s possible we’ll get one… but I’m not holding my breath.

I just watched it, it is very cute! Michael would have loved this. I noticed that Moonwalker was added to Amazon Prime recently too. |

Yes, it is very cute. Very well made and the singers Sing chose sound fantastic! I'm not sure if Scarlett Johansson can really sing or iher voice was polished withe the magic of a studio but I rememver Taron Egerton does. I'd have loved to see any character wearing MJ's clothing or something, other than that, I loved this Sing tribute. You can see Thriller referenced when they go to Clay's haunting looking house up to the end. |
