I'm thinking the forum has a bug. is used to post images, aye? It's the 2025 HIStory 30 calendar I'm trying to post I saw in the wild here. There was a bug a few days ago that stopped me from selecting thread page numbers at the top, so I had to go to the bottom every time. Sorted now. Maybe you're doing something wrong? Upload the pics on postimages.org/ and copy and paste the "Hotlink for forums" links here. that works for me every time
Cheers! Trying. š

Jesus! These AI images of Michael are getting better and better over time. š± I see them on Facebook all the time, and I hate them because a lot of people think they're real... Yeah, I see the same thing constantly and sometimes comment to tell people they're not real. But it's fascinating and scary how rapidly AI has improved to create images like these. I like some forms of AI, especially those that can help people with disabilities, but things like the example AI image with MJ? No. It has thr potential to cause a lot of problems for a lot of people eventually.

I just watched a documentary on HBO Max about yacht rock (It was pretty good, Iād recommend it) and essentially itās about the popular soft rock music of the 70ās and early 80ās coming out of Los Angeles with jazz and R&B elements. Bands like Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Toto, etc. The MJ connection is that a bunch of these studio session players also played on MJās stuff, famously, Human Nature is considered a yacht rock song. Anyways, Questlove is a talking head in the doc and him and others mention how Thillerās massive success along with the rise of MTV and the newfound importance of visuals essentially killed the yacht rock genre because these bands didnāt have the āwhole packageā per say. Not that it was MJās fault, but more-so the industry saw what Thriller did and made it the new formula for pop success.
Do you agree with that assessment? I thought it was interestingā¦ itās probably a bit more complicated than that, meaning that everything eventually has an expiration date, whatās popular is always susceptible to change. I mean, MJ experienced that phenomenon to some degree in the 90ās and 2000ās when pop music shifted in different directions, but he was usually able to adapt and make new genres his own, as well as doubling down on his distinctive style wether it was popular or not.

"Michael was fascinating to watch. Working with him taught me the importance of seizing every moment on stage. He painted pictures with every lyric and movement in his body.
Heās an incredible icon. You just pinch yourself when youāre on stage and have the opportunity to really see greatness and experience greatness. His spirit made me jam in what he believed in, it really inspired me and showed me that thereās so much that can be done as an artists, not just as a great singer; how much power you have, and seeing it first-hand from Michael, was life-changing.
He was very much a perfectionist, he was an expert and he inspired us to be experts. It was very much a great challenge of how to become greater and heās very intimidating in that way because youāre sharing a stage with Michael Jackson, but he really encouraged me.
Heās very sweet, a very, very kind person. Just very gracious and warm-hearted."

I do not like such images at all. The only AI I can taste in MJ's case are the ones Pixar MJ and Disney MJ. When I see even on fan pages such images I have no words. I mean the internet is full with pictures with him, even from his private life which is not OK. Either he is a mix of China trip pictures with mature Michael such as these, either pre Dangerous era MJ on the beach. There are also the ,,improved,, pictures that I really hate, taking all his humanity away. His face appears more white and more feminine; either AI, either photoshop with people that were dead or toddlers in that time, either this new thing. But what the heck, I've seen last week such photo with Metallica where they were looking like fluffy bunnies, dolls like..so it's the trend.

I don't know what is with Questlove lately. This summer I saw him blowing MJ's candles for shining his favorite artist ( just like any fan in yt comments) and in this autumn somth came into my feed on fb, again him with Terence Trent Darby, short, the later was complaining (I understood that this is an old story) that his immense success was cut short bc of MJ. If you are newer than me in MJ world you will see that he is to be blamed for anything, even for the jeopardizing the elephants in Africa, lowering the quality of music, so on.

The show is out, the first 3 episodes apparently. I didn't forget about Skeleton Crew but the date it would start. Have you seen it? If so, did you notice Captain Eo references or were we getting ahead of ourselves? The first impressions seem very positive, even if it's not about Eo, it will be nice enough if the characters we spotted are officially part of the Star Wars universe and I'm willing to give a good Star Wars show a chance as a fan of the franchise.
