Among any discerning adult with the ability to think for themselves, cancel culture is actually having the opposite effect than what is intended. Me and the missus started watching our Fawlty Towers boxset after some "offensive" clip posted on social media put us in the mood for it. And then I saw some outrage over Robert Downey Jnr playing blackface in a parody movie called Tropic Thunder, which I went out and brought as it looks hilarious and right up my alley. Sorry snowflakes! Even as a child I knew that the joke was that the Major was so particular about his racism. Unbelievable. I quote that epsiode so much! not those lines ,obviosuly. Wasn't Connie Booth fantastic,

BLM has been around a good few years.when michael brown was killed there was abit of attention etc but then it dissapeared. Colin kapernick had his career ruined cause he took the knee. Now every sports team in the world etc are doing it. What changed? its strange how things change.why now why not ten years ago etc?

Sorry snowflakes! The outrage towards Downey's segment in Tropic Thunder is BS because it's a parody of what really happened for decades in Hollywood Black people aren't the ones mad about it, I can say that for sure....

Mainstream media doing propaganda for Antifa (that's when they don't deny their existence). How nice!

Unbelievable. Have these people actually listened to what she's said? They're happy yo leech off her work though. If they were that offended they'd take their sites down. www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-53276007JK Rowling: Harry Potter fan sites reject author's trans comments Two leading Harry Potter fan sites have publicly distanced themselves from author JK Rowling over her recent comments about transgender people. The Leaky Cauldron and Mugglenet sites said they would no longer use photos of Rowling or link to her own website. Speaking jointly, they said her views on "marginalised people [were] out of step with the message of acceptance and empowerment we find in her books". The stars of the Potter films have also spoken out against Rowling's remarks. In their statement, the Leaky Cauldron and Mugglenet sites said it was "difficult to speak out against someone whose work we have so long admired". Yet they said it be "wrong" not to distance themselves from Rowling's "harmful and disproven beliefs about what it means to be a transgender person". "Our stance is firm," they wrote. "Transgender women are women. Transgender men are men. Non-binary people are non-binary. "We stand with Harry Potter fans in these communities, and while we don't condone the mistreatment JKR has received we must reject her beliefs." The two sites have been personally recognised by the author, who has presented them both with a fan site award she bestows through her official website. Rowling, who has received both censure and messages of support for her remarks, has yet to comment on the fan sites' statement.

^ Hereby I declare I don't reject MJ for his non-progressive beliefs about abortion, won't take his pictures down etc. - even though I am pro-choice. Nor do I burn my copy of Bad 25. Not being triggered by difference of beliefs and opinions on social, political etc matters, is simply being adult IMO. It seems to me today's society is becoming increasingly infantile in its inability to handle different opinions in an adult manner.

It seems to me today's society is becoming increasingly infantile in its inability to handle different opinions in an adult manner. It’s a large part of the reason I barely touch social media. It’s a fucking joke the way people are being held “accountable“ for their opinions and lifestyle choices, and expected to apologise for exercising their basic freedoms because a few snowflakes can’t deal with a persons opinion. It really is a world gone mad! They came for J.K Rowling a few weeks ago because she stated the obvious and the vile and vicious comments towards her were horrendous. Social media has shown the worst side of human beings for what they are. What a weird time to be alive. Don’t express your rights as an individual with the ability to form your own opinion because they’ll come for you!

It blows my mind that we’re living through an era of fascism and communism.

Millenials dont seem to have the ability to cope with ppl who have different opions.we arent talking about highly offensive ones either. Maybe its because they are too immature to be able to have an adult discussion over a subject.rather having a tantrum and "cancelling"the other is easier.
They dont even realise that the way they are acting is more right wing than what they claim to stand against.
