30 years since this masterpiece. Amazing that this was only 4 years after 'Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.' Such a great album. Praying For Time cemented my fandom. I still haven’t gotten the deluxe box! Will Trojan Souls be released at some point? Edit] and TonyR played a big part in me becoming a bigger fan also. Can’t believe they haven’t released Trojan Souls yet. A whole unreleased album ready to go. Why the hold up. We’ve had nothing since his passing except that Fantasy remix passed off as a new track and the actual new track of This Is How... The LWP rerelease was great, especially with the Unplugged disc but that was all planned before he died.

Surly there’s concerts, they could issue a series of live albums, and also maybe there’s Wham material like demos, remixes? As you say, Trojan Souls is just sitting there. Maybe their saving it for his 10th anniversary or something. Also rehearsal and studio footage.

As far as I'm aware Trojan Souls isn't really "on the shelf" as such, it was just a couple of rough demos and a stack of instrumentals that George had earmarked for other artists to sing. The Sony court case stopped any further work from being done unfortunately.
I did see George's friend/executor David Austin say that a date from his Cover to Cover tour in 1991 is mastered and ready to go, and I would really like to see that. GM wasn't a terribly prolific artist, but his concerts were always A1.

I thought I remember seeing somewhere a few years ago that he wasn’t keen on unreleased recordings being released and that his Estate were respecting that?
Then again, I believe they put out some new material for that Christmas movie last year so I probably misread it, or they’re being deliberately conservative to respect something like that.

Has anyone read Andrew Ridgeley's book? What did you think?

He really doesn't do anything for me, with his embarassing dad dancing, his Gucci suits and his loungey-jazz vibe which is just dull as dishwater. George Michael is music for repressed housewives. Sorry, but it's how I feel.

Sorry, but it's how I feel. Pretty sure you've just lost your gay badge. You'd be surprised. I don't know of any of my gay friends who like George Michael. We generally don't support our own kind. But give us a long standing female with some sequins and a feather boa and we're anybody's.

I also loved his duet with Mary J Blige on As. I may even prefer it to Stevie's:
I love Stevie's too, but this duet is one of my favorite songs ever. His voice is like velvet, hers is like fire. I love the way he dances. It's such a shame that they never performed it live.
