I think MJ lived a hard life and the 00s especially were a rough time for him. He started to look better around 2003-4 after a rough start to the millenium, but the trial took a massive toll on him, as stressful life events do with anybody. I think by 06-09, a culmination of the stress of the trial, his surgery, his bad sleep habits and his on-off battle with prescription drugs all likely contributed to him appearing somewhat fragile around TII. Considering everything he had to go through, he faired up remarkably well if you ask me. Life usually catches up with people in their 50/60s and MJ went through more than most. I never thought he looked fragile on TII. Too skinny perhaps, but he wouldn't have been able to pull off that dancing if he was as fragile as some fans make him out to be. Yes, thinking Michael was physically fragile is at odds with the autopsy. Mentally is a different question and Ortega's testimony was important in this regard.

Perez Hilton was a nasty blogger but even he mentioned something about Jackson possibly having Anorexia in 2007 in a post. Most of the concern back then was for female celebrities with Anorexia.
But I do think he had it. And I think he had it for a very large part of his life not just towards the end.
The pictures of him at the James Brown funeral are pretty concerning. His face had gone entirely skeletal and the suit he wore seemed to be oversized so hide the thin-ness.
The AEG trial was interesting. His makeup artist and personal tailor said he was skin and bone while others claimed he was "healthy". Something didn't seem to add up.

His chef kai said he ate fine towards the end. Probably the effects of diprivan more than anything. Ive never seen proof of such claims. People lose weight for lots of different reasons but it always has to be the extreme with MJ. The jacksons talked out both sides of their mouths during the AEG trial. In one breath saying they were going to make billions by taking the tour around the world in order to claim more compensation and in the next breath about how MJ was this that and the other and AEG killed him. They wanted it both ways to make as much $ as possible, not caring about MJs rep. Same as they acted pre june 09 in trying to get in on the shows.

Michael wasn't anorexic at any point in his life and medical experts testified under oath to his physical fitness. He was clearly not "skin and bones" which Faye and others were hyperbolic about, especially considering Michael was only slightly underweight. That's not skin and bones territory at all.

Sorry but I have to disagree. He appeared very thin before death. And years leading up to his death he was Anorexic looking. It's hard to see the 'you rock my world' video because that's the first time I ever was introduced to him when it aired as a preteen and he was healthy looking body wise. Probably anywhere from a 150-180 pounds back then. The weight loss after that was shocking and extreme.

You can disagree all you like with the testimony of medical experts and the autopsy all you like, but it doesn't change the medical facts they brought to light. Shocking and extreme?! Give your head a wobble because the facts show Michael was only slightly underweight at age 50 AND much fitter than the average 50 year old! You're a classic case of someone who struggles with the clash between your own perception and the reality as proven by medical experts including his autopsy. Michael Jackson did not suffer from anorexia nervosa.

Michael Jackson did not suffer from anorexia nervosa. He was very obviously under weight well before his death. The radio music awards picture was one of the most alarming. He obviously was not at a healthy weight.

It was well known he didn’t like to eat, so maybe it was stress related weight loss if not anorexia. I think he did mention anorexia in the Glenda tapes so it’s possible he may have had it before

I think he did mention anorexia in the Glenda tapes so it’s possible he may have had it before I tend to believe Karen Faye. She was very close with him and had no reason to lie in court. She said she could see his heart beating outside his chest he was so thin I think AEG just wanted to "make it go away" as far as a lawsuit so they pretended he wasn't that unwell. MJ was popping up on celebrity blogs I used to follow before he died. I tended to view those blogs for Paris Hilton and other celebrity stories but Michael started being talked about. People back then in those old comment sections were all talking about his weight. Other MJ articles had the old plastic surgery and allegations jokes but strangely in the images of him taken before he died the topic of conversation became soley his weight. And then he died... I know it was the anesthetic that killed him but he was suffering from other issues as well.

I get how MJ is a person who people want to understand and know, but I really think it would be better for you to really just concentrate on his music and art.
I think it's what he would have wanted also!

He was very obviously under weight well before his death. The radio music awards picture was one of the most alarming. He obviously was not at a healthy weight. "Well underweight before his death" is absolute crap! The autopsy was very meticulously conducted by actual experts in this kind of thing. The conclusion of this was that Michael Jackson was 136 lbs which is only SLIGHTLY underweight for his height. Karen Faye is just full of hyperbolic nonsense and her nonsense has long since been debunked by actual medical experts who took the stand in Conrad Murray's criminal prosecution trial. Faye, on the other hand, only testified in a civil lawsuit which is less thorough and has a much lower standard than the criminal trial process. Radio Music Awards was 6 years before he passed. The autopsy and medical facts for the date of Michael's death is very, very clear - slightly underweight but healthier than the average 50 year old. You are entitled to your own opinion, but not to your own facts. Additionally, all opiopins are not equal or equally deserving of the same level of respect. This is why we have laypersons and experts on things. One clearly outweighs the other. As I said, you're a classic case of someone who struggles with the clash between your own perception and the reality as proven by medical experts including his autopsy. That's really all I have to say on mess suggesting Michael was anorexic in the last years of his life.
