Just like I previously stated, the biopic is not about proving Michael’s innocence. There’s no way any actors would have agreed to partake if that were the case. I think once again fans are making a mountain out of a molehill on X regarding this comment. Some fans act like he said MJ was guilty. I think he's simply saying that the movie is not going to shove down his innocence on viewers' throat, but lets them decide. Which is actually probably more effective than if the viewer feels a certain narrative is aggressively pushed on them. I doubt, however, that the movie is going to be totally agnostic about his innocence and I doubt it's not going show facts and events that will move the viewer more towards the innocent opinion. Things like how the Chandler allegations actually formed and what went on behind the scenes. A lot of those things are unknown to the general public and if they knew they'd question the allegations more than they do IMO. So just showing some of those things could influence people in favor of his innocence. Of course it's not a "prove MJ's innocence" project, it never has been. MJ's life was too eventful to fit all that PLUS a meaningful, in depth rebuttal of the allegations in a 3-hour movie. Fans need to be realistic about what of such an eventful life fits in 3 hours.

Fans and the detractors thought this was some sort of MJ innocent project. It only intensified after that journalist claimed he saw the script, and he said it was an aggressive defense to prove Michael’s innocence. I think the biopic will handle the allegations similar to the “Man In The Mirror” movie.

"Fans need to be realistic" is more or less what I've been saying from the beginning, but that's not going to happen. I've seen sooooooo many wildly unrealistic expectations from fans all across the internet. This is part of what i was trying to say a few weeks ago: this is not going to be "the greatest" anything of all time.....not greatest movie, not greatest biopic, not the thing that proves his innocence, not the thing that proves he's better than Taylor Swift.....none of that. It's going to be a biopic. Hopefully a good one, but it's going to be a biopic. Dates, times, events, people, places and YES.....clothing....are all going to be switched around, not exactly correct, left out and so on. The soundtrack isn't going to be a bunch of unrelease masterpieces from Michael. It's going to be another version of a Greatest Hits album, just like every other biopic soundtrack. Also, jumping on every single photo, quote and article between now and April isn't going to help / change anything. The movie is shot and it's going to be what it's going to be. At this point, fans should just sit back and wait for the promotion to kick off when the trailer is released later this year. I'm doing the same thing with this movie that I did with the Elvis movie: going in cautiously optimistic. I ended up loving the Elvis movie and I hope I love this one too. I didn't go into Elvis looking to nitpick and I'm not going into Michael looking to do that either. It seems most fans just want the movie made exactly how they want it made, which is so odd to me. I get that Michael is "our guy" but we can't control every single thing that's said and done about him.

What is the greatest biopic in your opinion? My personal favorite music biopic of all time is Love & Mercy, a brilliant biopic about Brian Wilson.

I'd go with What's Love Got To Do With It and La Bamba. Beyond The Sea, Ray and Coal Miners Daughter are also all pretty good. Walk The Line is decent as well.
