For All Time was put on Thriller 25 and it's Dangerous era. Well yeah, but that one just makes no sense whatsoever š I actually don't mind that it's there, Steve Porcaro said that it was written as a spiritual sequel to Human Nature. I'm at peace with this.

Okay, so The Toy has been confirmed. Are we not getting any extended versions on this release? Disc 2 so far have been unreleased demos, which is what the majority seem to want from disc 2. The digital "disc 3" will be the extended versions that have already been released to date and available on previous released, Thriller 2001 SE, The Ultimate Collection, Thriller 25 etc. With 7 songs to go for disc 2, I still think the extended Lady in my Life has a good chance. However, we still have the following in the arsenal: Hot Street/Slapstick Starlight Billie Jean (Studio Demo) Got The Hots (really should be on the digital release as it was on the Japanese Thriller 25 and several King Of Pop collections) Niteline Someone in the Dark - Complete version? The Girl Is Mine (this also should be on the digital release, already released on TGIM 2008) So will the digital disc 3 be on streaming? Is that the confirmed tracklist or just an educated guess? Will be kinda pissed if we don't get the exquisite LIML and HN 12" versions on this release.

Thats 12" mix of Human Nature was fanmade with the multitracks, but we are getting the alternate 7" with the different bridge. The 12" HN is just the album version. But the extended LIML absolutely must be on this BUT........... I am a little worried that no Temperton songs have been announced yet though.

Yeah, if you think about it, it really doesn't have a connection to the Thriller album other than the time period it was made in. On the other hand, SITD was used for the Thriller SE and that has no real connection to the Thriller album, so I guess it's fine. For All Time was put on Thriller 25 and it's Dangerous era. Another Part of Me was originally for Captain EO and included on Bad, Come Together was originally for Moonwalker and included on HIStory and Iām sure thereās tons of tracks on box sets from other artists that werenāt necessarily intended for said project. Damien is being a little pedantic here.

Not sure if this has been posted here but here's a thread Damien made on The Toy and Best Of Joy.

Given his stance on the estate -99.9% of which I agree- I thought he had a bee in his bonnet. I think The Toy is fair game for a Thriller era release.

I would imagine he just wanted to give fans what he felt was a great track that was fully produced to a level and standard that met with what he felt peoples expectations would be. Itās one of my all time favourite MJ tracks. Itās beautiful in my opinion. I think Thriller25 was more a vehicle to gauge public interest rather than be an out and out retrospective look back. A safe bet that gave him an opportunity to dip his toes into working again and get a feel for things again. Of course what he ended up doing was setting a precedent for what was to come; Pittbull, AfroJack, Xscape etc.

^If the bodyguards are to be believed, MJ didn't want to do the remixes, but was told by the label that he had to.

Itās a shame he didnāt release one more album in his lifetime with some of the unreleased tracks he had pretty much ready to go. There was enough great material already there. A bit of mixing and mastering, sequencing a track selection and an art concept for the sleeve and just surprise drop it.

^If the bodyguards are to be believed, MJ didn't want to do the remixes, but was told by the label that he had to. I donāt know. Everything seems so vague, murky or sinister about the last decade of his life that you donāt really know what or who to believe. It seems everyone has an angle or a story to tell and you just wonder whoās reliable and whoās to be taken with a pinch of salt. Even those well intentioned people. When it comes to a celebratory of MJās stature anyone who talks about him has a vested interest. Not sure what Iām getting at.
