Not really sure I see anyone being an "expert". Strange thing to say tbh.

Well, I missed this yesterday as my dad was in hospital. Nice surprise to wake up to. I actually quite like it. It's nothing earth-shattering, nor does it need to be. Just a fun, early-00s bop. Best bit is the pre-chorus "I've got a message for you, you know I'll never stop crying baby...". Very catchy. In all honesty, I wouldn't have begrudged this taking up a slot on the album over the likes of Privacy or Don't Walk Away.

I'm not even a massive Invincible fan and have been quite vocal about my criticisms of the album in the past, but this song I really like.

Although I have a soft spot for Don’t Walk Away and Privacy has grown on me since Innuendo made a decent case for it ages back -and actually some of your posts made me re-evaluate the entire album- CGYWOOM might have added some more consistency. 🤩

Everyone seems to be going mad for this and whilst I like it I feel like people are over reacting because it's a new leak. It's directly comparable quality wise to a lot of invincible. It's the "new" song effect. But when the dust settles in most cases it's completely understandable why a song didn't make it to the album. MJ's catalog has very few misses: usually the better songs made it to the album and it were the weaker ones that were left out. I enjoyed the outtakes on Bad 25 or Thriller 40 and it's nice to have them but in most cases it's understandable why they didn't make it to the albums. Yeah, definitely agreed.

My son was watching Youtube on our smart telly and I said I wanted the remote to listen to a new MJ song. He says "has he come back to life then daddy?". LOL

Get Your Weight Off Of Me: "You got a lesson to learn, You get respect which you earn". Privacy: "Now there's a lesson to learn, respect's not given, it's earned". Lyrics recycled almost verbatim. I wonder if they already knew GYWOOM wouldn't make the album when they were writing Privacy, so they had no problem recycling those lyrics? Or were they just super lazy? "Man in the Music" by Joseph Vogel says both songs were written in the first few months of 2000. MJ has quite a history of recycling lyrics, you know. E.g. a verse in HIStory was recycled for WMCIG. Years ago, I'd along with a few others identified approximately 200 such examples. Another example in CGYWOOM is this line " My thoughts of you still remain" is similar to the one in CLHGA "Your thoughts of me remain". I think it's quite normal for things to be repeated. After all, Nature does!

As for the song, I hear hints of Unbreakable, Invincible and Privacy. But more especially Invincible and Privacy.
It doesn't sound as strong as the first three on the album to me, but it does underscore my feeling MJ didn't have great creative chemistry with Jerkins. That's odd because they certainly appeared to have excellent chemistry as friends during this time!
The one MJ/Jerkins song I keep comings back to consistently is YRMW. That's classic yet updated. Should have made more like that.
CGYWOOM is one I can take or leave. It wouldn't have added anything massively new to Invincible - just more of the same.
Michael sounds fantastic though. Those vocals deserve a much better song.

It's definitely been tampered with by the leaker, has it? There's so much noise and distortion that it makes it hard to listen to.
