Incidentally, I have just discussed Frank's trash ass in a closed group with other fans a few weeks ago. We all agreed that he is trash. One of the stories I remembered to bring up was one that I read from a fan many, many years ago and saved. I believe every word of it, I always did and I always knew the "friend" here is Frank. Take a look at how he behaved behind MJ's back. (Joanna is that fangirl who some fans and media articles tried to claim was MJ's girlfriend.ย She never was, she was instead sleeping with Frank and they were the ones who sold the girlfriend stories to media and then split the money.
I remember reading this. Iโm glad that she spoke up. Michael was surrounded by some of the worst people, sad.

The Estate should have reported them for extortion from the beginning. They shouldโve never received financial gain. With that said, I hope they make an example out of them. I side eye some of the claims Frank made in his book. There were several instances where he wasnโt truthful. Like when he acted he had no idea why MJ fired him after the trial. He acted that was just paranoia. He didn't tell the stories about his parties at NL behind MJ's back, among others. I'm really curious about the parents. Are they in are they not in and shocked? A fan said she chatted with Dominic (the father) 5 years ago and he was very nice and said MJ was like a son to him. All the while this was going on in the background? So does he know what his children were doing or was it hidden from him as well? The article says 5 people were paid $3m (which only adds up to $15m not the $20m Branca said was paid). How many Cascio's are there? I know of Eddie and Frank. Would the other 3 perhaps include the parents? Ugh. This is all so depressingly predictable.

Imagine the arrogance and entitlement of thinking you deserve 1/6 of MJ's life work.

There are 5 Cascio siblings: Frank, Eddie, Marie Nicole, Aldo and Dominic.

I don't think there are good solutions in such a case but I think it was a horrible idea from the Estate to pay them in 2019. What was Branca thinking?
I wonder if they would have done that with anyone else? We know they didn't with Wade. So it begs the question why? Does it perhaps have to do with the fact they were sitting in the same boat in the fake songs scandal? Does this decision somehow relate to defending those fake songs together? Or was this strictly a fear that this could be lethal after LN? I really hope Branca didn't throw MJ under the bus for those fake songs somehow and to cover for his own butt in that scandal.

FOR FUCK'S SAKE, Michael couldn't trust ANYONE! ๐ก๐ญ I swear I'm not blaming him but was he that terrible at reading people's intentions? I understand his longing for a sense of family since Michael was treated as a commodity and the a cash cow by his own flesh and blood but I also wish he hadn't befriended all those random ass families.
I agree branca should have reported the Cascios to the authorities back in 2019 but I bet he thought the Cascios flipping on MJ would have been devastating since most in the media jumped on the LN bandwagon and didn't even bother to question its credibility.

The more I think about it the more angry I'm about what a royal fuck up this is on Branca's part.
I can imagine they were scared shitless for those projects in 2019. The musical, the Cirque show, the movie, but maybe it would have been better to put those on hold and deal with this then than to allow it to fester until now. How is it any better now? My understanding is that the creators of the movie for example didn't know about this. If it will in any way harm the movie, the Estate might even get massive lawsuits from the movie company. SMFH, what have you done, Branca?

At the risk of sounding conspiratorial, could the fake songs scandal have been a cover up for a settlement even back in 2010? I had wondered that before. I mean, those songs were so obviously fraudulent, and the way the estate went against even the families wishes by endorsing them was highly suspect to say the least. I've always had a hard time swallowing that they were really just that stupid/gulliable.

I think re. the songs the Estate was really that stupid and they really wanted those songs to be true as there were 12 of them, plenty to milk. And if true they would have been some of MJ's last recordings.

I think it's more a case of immense fame and wealth attracting the wrong sorts of people. The missus is part of the inner circle of a celeb nowhere near MJs level of success and fame (Morrissey) and the amount of leeches and sycophants even on that level is something to behold. People stop at nothing desperately clamouring to penetrate that inner circle and get a piece of the pie. She legitimately had a death threat from an anonymous person over her association with Morrissey. She's been accused of being his lover (much to my amusement), she's been accused of being a paid for mouthpiece for his PR team. I once made a derogatory comment on Twitter years ago about one of Morrissey's bandmates and had one of Morrissey's relatives trawl through years worth of tweets on my private account looking for something, anything to discredit Fiona, in an attempt to tarnish her standing in his camp. I can only imagine the fucked up things that went on around MJ.
