Reading on twitter that the washington article claims to have a video interview with branca yet theres nothing in the link. And the fact stacey brown wrote the article some are doubting its validity. It is odd that branca talks to him and that paper instead of going to say the A.P or a big USA paper. Is it just wishful thinking but could this article havebeen totally made up??

Incidentally, I have just discussed Frank's trash ass in a closed group with other fans a few weeks ago. We all agreed that he is trash. One of the stories I remembered to bring up was one that I read from a fan many, many years ago and saved. I believel every word of it, I always did and I always knew the "friend" here is Frank. Take a look at how he behaved behind MJ's back. (Joanna is that fangirl who some fans and media articles tried to claim was MJ's girlfriend. She never was, she was instead sleeping with Frank and they were the ones who sold the girlfriend stories to media and then split the money.
I remember Joanna because she tried to milk that story back in 2014. She even wrote a book about it. In France there's a reality show similar to Big Brother where you live in a house and you're constantly on camera, the difference is each candidate comes with a secret that they have to keep until the end or they lose the sum of money they gain by playing games or doing secret missions. Joanna's secret was that she had secretly dated Michael Jackson. In the show she claimed she was in the audience during a concert and Michael noticed her and they started dating from then on. Something like that. Michael's manager denied it though. He said she threatened to kill herself if he didn't see her. She was 17 at the time.

I don't think there are good solutions in such a case but I think it was a horrible idea from the Estate to pay them in 2019. What was Branca thinking? I wonder if they would have done that with anyone else? We know they didn't with Wade. So it begs the question why? Does it perhaps have to do with the fact they were sitting in the same boat in the fake songs scandal? Does this decision somehow relate to defending those fake songs together? Or was this strictly a fear that this could be lethal after LN? I really hope Branca didn't throw MJ under the bus for those fake songs somehow and to cover for his own butt in that scandal. As fans we need to remember that Branca’s fiduciary duty is to the Jackson family members named in the will, not us fans. His job is to ensure they receive a profitable inheritance and that’s tied to the estates value. Had five more accusers come forward alongside Wade and James during that critical time, the damage on the estate’s value would have been immense. It was a miracle that the musical was made after 2019. While I’m not sure it was the right choice, it was certainly the right business decision.

Am I the only one who feels completely numb to this? I got the news this morning and didn’t feel a thing, not even surprise. After everything that unfolded in 2019, nothing about these allegations shocks me anymore. I feel like the accusers played all their cards with the HBO documentary and I doubt this will become a major story.

The Financial Times reached out to Branca and he confirmed it to them.
In an odd turn of events Stacy Brown seems to be Team Estate now. I have noticed this with another article a few weeks ago that was about the Estate and MJ and I was surprised at the positive and non-tabloidish, professional tone. I had to double check if it is the same Stacy Brown, but it is. I think Branca is talking to him and sending him info.
On the other hand, Roger Friedman will be interesting here as well, as he is a Cascio pal. So he may be back to being hostile to MJ again. We'll see.

Going back to the old Cascio songs thread I saw this. (This while around the same time the Estate signed the "deal" with them...)
Well, it turns out we have the same fish to fry here...
The moral of the story? You can't appease trash people, you need to call them out. You can't appease them by ignoring or forgiving their wrongdoings and you can't even appease them by giving in to their extortion as the Estate just found out. They got $20 million, only to come back for $213 million 5 years later. An amoral person is going to be amoral. There's no low such people cannot sink.
Those fake songs were a MASSIVE betrayal to MJ. It's a stab in the back by a supposed friend on both an artistic and a personal level. It shows a huge disrespect towards him. In any other world apart from MJ's this would have been and should have been a much bigger scandal. But because we had the allegations that looked like a bigger betrayal, we tended to consider this as not so bad or not so important. It was! It shows the lack of moral character these people have and the danger coming from such people should have been evident since then.

I’m going to give Branca the benefit of the doubt here. He was literally buying time. It would have been the catalyst for an avalanche of false allegations if the Cascios went public and MJ’s legacy would have been absolutely destroyed and buried in the dirt during the timeline of LN. It was absolutely the wrong time and Branca chose the lesser of two evils within the larger scope of things. I think the fact that we have now gotten some space between LN and this, allows the public to see that a very clear pattern is beginning to form in relation to the types of people who are making these types of claims and this whole situation can begin to be framed in the way it exists. Some of the (a lot of the media) will do what they usually do regardless of the facts. But…..all it would take would be for one reputable publication (New York Times?) to publish a proper exposé into what’s actually going on here because it’s becoming more and more obvious that all of this is extortion and nothing else. And for one of these to go to court and for a judge to call this out and come down extremely hard on the false accuser and make an example of them. Enough is enough. There has to be a moment of clarity for the media and the public. And the public are beginning to wake up to all of this.

FOR FUCK'S SAKE, Michael couldn't trust ANYONE! 😡😭 I swear I'm not blaming him but was he that terrible at reading people's intentions? I understand his longing for a sense of family since Michael was treated as a commodity and the a cash cow by his own flesh and blood but I also wish he hadn't befriended all those random ass families. I think it's more a case of immense fame and wealth attracting the wrong sorts of people. The missus is part of the inner circle of a celeb nowhere near MJs level of success and fame (Morrissey) and the amount of leeches and sycophants even on that level is something to behold. People stop at nothing desperately clamouring to penetrate that inner circle and get a piece of the pie. She legitimately had a death threat from an anonymous person over her association with Morrissey. She's been accused of being his lover (much to my amusement), she's been accused of being a paid for mouthpiece for his PR team. I once made a derogatory comment on Twitter years ago about one of Morrissey's bandmates and had one of Morrissey's relatives trawl through years worth of tweets on my private account looking for something, anything to discredit Fiona, in an attempt to tarnish her standing in his camp. I can only imagine the fucked up things that went on around MJ. That’s messed up man! Billie Jean just got a whole lot realer for you guys.

A few tabliod media rags will print another load of misinformation about MJ….does anyone even care anymore?!

Not to mention all of the damage and hostility it created within the fan community for years. It was the ultimate betrayal.
