Hey funksoldier, great to have another german fan ย And don't get me started on german music, in this song the refrain is basically: Bettina cover your breasts, Bettina please put some clothes on

He's mainly known for the massive #1 Rock Me Amadeus. I was mad on that song back in the day & even knew (know) the German/English lyrics

That's a really great song, and yes I think he was Austrian. Yes he was austrian, but they speak german. That's why I said he's my favourite german speaking artist I totally love his music. But I don't like Rock Me Amadeus, I find it realy cringeworthy I like Jeanny more He died in 1998 in a car crash Sadly...... And to the other Poster: "The Fanta Four are great!!! But the rest from germany.....well, I don't know it's just not great

I have to own up, I actually like a lot of German stuff - even if it is all in English or foreign artists recording in Germany.
Boney M - I really love their stuff, sunny and funky disco sounds. Milli Vanilli - Okay they didn't sing, but the music was pretty good Kraftwerk - Electronic music Gods Trio - I really liked that Da da da song Harold Faltermeyer - German artist behind Axel F Nena - 99 Luft balloons great in English and Deutsch (I have heard a bit more as my sister in law is German and I have half German nieces and nephews)
Of course some German artists I was less crazy about like Lou Bega, Papa Bear and a few others like Crazy Frog and Schnappi.
Also bear in mind that David Bowie's greatest trio of albums - Low, Heroes and Lodger was recorded in Berlin and he recorded Heroes in German (Helden).

^ I think there are some very great german artists/bands but the german language doesn't really sound good in most songs imo.
I do love the band Rammstein though LOL they are quite popular in the US

I don't know if you guys know Laibach. They are a Slovenian band and they sing in German. Apparently Rammstein was heavily influenced by them. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laibach_(band)They are also known for their peculiar covers. Obviously this is all tongue in cheek.

^I think german is great for aggressive songs, that's why I like Rammstein (Du Hast is a fantastic song imo) but german ballads and german rap are very awful LOL
