I really liked it. I went into it expecting a film and not a documentary and I thought the guy that played Freddie was spot on. Really enjoyed it. I think I'm gonna watch days of lives again after seeing it, I really enjoy that documentary. Amazing doc. Check out The Great Pretender too. Its a nice companion, as it goes into his solo career with an MJ cameo I actually own that one on blu ray as well. I think I've only watched it once though so I'll need to check it out again.

I haven't watched the movie yet but I don't like the fact they added unnecessary drama and fiction to forcibly portray Freddie's HIV diagnosis in one of the most iconic Queen performances such as Live Aid to end in a high note when he was dignosed 2 years later. The movie should have ended in 1987 then wirh Freddie and Montserrat Caballé (may she rest in peace, she passed away last month) perfoming Barcelona, it'd have been more accurate wiith the truth.
I could find The Great Pretender and Days of Our Lives this week and I mostly enjoyed them, the last part when they talk about Innuendo and Made In Heaven made bawl my eyes out, I assumed tracks such as Made In Heaven, Mother Love, etc didn't made the cut to Innuendo, I didn't know Freddie was literally recording weeks or even days before dying. Making music kept him going no matter if he was suffering or in pain.
The only thing that irked me about TGP was Jim Beach saying the alledged reason why Michael and Freddie couldn't finish the songs they were working on, it contradicts what Peter Freestone told about their encounter in Encino, I choose to believe Peter since he was actually there and saw them working in the studio getting along pretty well.
In case you want to read his story again, it's really sweet.

In case you want to read his story again, it's really sweet. I remember there was a journalist in TGP trying to excuse the lack of success and quality of Mr. Bad Guy compared to Thriller by saying "A million people worked on Thriller, but only Freddie worked on Mr. Bad Guy". Not exact words, but the suggestion was kind of like MJ had the success of Thriller thanks to others. The way it was said, I felt like that he was trying to elevate or defend Freddie by belittling MJ and it just came across as petty with no other reason than envy and jealousy of MJ's success. I was like, dude give credit where it is due. Thriller was a phenomenon and it was a phenomenon because of MJ - with iconic songs like Billie Jean, Beat It and WBSS all written by him. But it was a FM documentary so I guess you have to cater to his fans a bit, but that's the only thing I didn't like in it.

I feel like people are forgetting that this is a movie and not a documentary. They had to show things in a short amount of time, there was drama in Queen but it happened over a longer period, the fights in the film are just to portray it in a shorter time span. As a movie I thought it was a great celebration of Freddie and Queen.

Yeah, it is a bit odd to play around with the timeline like that. It'd be like doing a biopic of MJs rise to superstardom in the 80s, but putting the allegations in during the Bad tour just for the sake of having it in there. A biopic should at least attempt to accurately tell the story of someone's life, and squeezing in Freddies diagnosis before Live Aid seems a little crass, like its an inconvenient footnote to be dealt with before the end of the film.

I feel like when you look at it like a movie then it's not that bad and I doubt they intended it to be an inconvenient footnote at all, the diagnosis was moved to give the ending of the movie more impact. Days Of Our Lives is a very good documentary if you want a mostly accurate representation of how things went down. I really recommend it.

I loved this film so much I went twice. I’m a casual fan and had one of those highly enjoyable casual fan experiences. I knew that it wasn’t 100% accurate but I took it at face value and loved it. It felt like such a celebration of the band and the audience on both nights seemed to really love it also. Put me in such a Queen mood. I found it to be pure entertainment and highly enjoyable. I really like this Rami guy as well. I thought he was excellent.
