I love Bad. But especially at this time of the year (spring, summer) it fits my mood.

I love Bad. But especially at this time of the year (spring, summer) it fits my mood. That's interesting. Are the dark trilogy albums (Dangerous, HIStory, BOTDF) more suited to the dark nights of winter? And the youthful light trilogy of OTW, Thriller & Bad more suited to upbeat summery days?

I LOVE BAD as well but I was honestly fed up it's the only MJ song included in movies for children; however, I was pleasantly surprised Despicable Me 3 not only included BAD, it was the extended version! Just what a shame it's not on the soundtrack's CD. The only part I loved about the movie, TBH. And because Balthazar's mullet made me cringe, I'll leave a pic of the only man who made that hairstyle look sexy.

The short version is on the CD, not the extended one. I thought it'd be included as it was in the movie.

Michael Jacksons like the only dude who could have a mullet and have it still look good 30 years on.
Honestly I didnโt even realise it was a mullet until a year or two ago...

Yes it was a mullet and natural evolved from his mid 80s jheri curl into the mullet by 86 (He has it in Captain EO, even if it still looks a little processed). And he was mulleted right through to 1991, when he pony tailed it by the time of the Remember the Time video (Late 91 start of 92). After that Michael was favouring that longer hair look until 95, when he cut it short and may have started wearing wigs more.

iTunes has a really good, super high-res copy of the artwork on their servers - 3698x3698 pixels!

I never realized he was wearing nail polish until now.

I've never really thought of it as a mullet to be honest. I think black people can pull off that kind of shit better than white folks. White guys with long hair tend to look like Michael Bolton.

Yeah, it never occurred to me it was a mullet. MJ had beautiful hair, it looked cool on him, not like the mullet of white people.
(In my country a mullet is called Bundesliga hair because so many German soccer players had it at the time. Lol.)

I don't think it was really a mullet, just an overgrown jheri curl.

I don't think it was really a mullet, just an overgrown jheri curl. I mean if the definition of a mullet is short at front, long at back, I'd say at times it can look like a mullet? Esp. in that photo Snow White posted above. It might not be a mullet in the more traditional sense (think white guy with straight hair - yeesh) but I've seen curly mullets before - looks like Lionel Richie even rocked a jheri curl mullet for a while there. I was looking through my Bad era photos and the length definitely varies, so there are times when it jumps between outgrown jheri curls and mullet-ish, and then there are times he wears it in a ponytail

The most perfect album on the planet for me, and the album that opened my ears as well as eyes.
Is there a more visual album on the planet? Every single song with it's own short film, except for Just Good Friends (I always considered the Bucharest performance for IJCSLY as the official video for this).
Each song/short film is so cinematic, which over the years has gotten me thinking that each song/short film is a cinematic adventure, dreamed up by MJ. The whole album is a cinematic dream. The addition of Leave Me Alone serves as the perfect prologue to his career. This is the moment the tables would turn and the media would pounce on him.
I know many don't like Just Good Friends, but I really see this as a worthy intermission on the album. Take a breather- enjoy 2 of the best exchanging hooks and adlibs before regular service resumes.
The cover - one word, iconic.
I have more versions of this album than any other album. I have almost every version of Bad25, the original pressing LP, original pressing CD, Special Editions etc... But funny enough, my favourite to listen to is still the version I got in 1995, 1994 pressing. It's just how it should sound to me.
Really want to get my hands on the Target exclusive Bad 25 as it has all the videos (except only the short version of Bad).
Funny enough, I'm about to buy a 2nd pressing Japan CD this morning because I THINK it has the 2nd edit of Smooth Criminal (the later version except WITH the breathing at the start, it;s on the Black or White CD).
Obsessed with this album. Nothing will ever change that.
