Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash was asked in a new Forbes interview who the greatest singer of all time is, and his answer was a tie between Mick Jagger and James Brown, followed by Michael Jackson, and then Axl Rose. “I’d have to give it to Mick Jagger and James Brown, and I know they’re very much related, but both those guys were so committed. And then Michael [Jackson]. Axl [Rose] is one of the best frontmen of all time too. They’re so committed to the show and so aware of how important that dynamic is.” www.alternativenation.net/slash-reveals-michael-jackson-better-axl-rose/

I'm sure we had a thread about songs by other artists that mention MJ, but I can't find it now, so I will put it here. Today I bumped into this song on Spotify Lyrics: Now, Now Lyrics "MJ"
You see my baby sends your love around Just to use it on another like a trick now Only comes like a thief in the night But you know that's not right Now I know that it was foolish of me To give away such a pivotal part of me It's only sad 'cause it could've been easy Yeah, it could've been easy
I know I'm not the only one who listened to ya Billie Jean, baby please, he's a criminal Maybe if I was young, unpredictable He's got her heart and I
And I want it all back, and I And I want it all back, and I And I want it all back, and I And I want it all back, and I And I want it all
I used to think that you could've been an angel But you left all your demons on my front step That's creeping up on me like it never left Like it never left
You know I lost my mind About a thousand times Because it could've been easy You know it could've been easy
I know I'm not the only one who listened to ya Billie Jean, baby please, he's a criminal Maybe if I was young, unpredictable He's got her heart and I
And I want it all back, and I And I want it all back, and I And I want it all back, and I And I want it all back, and I And I want it all
You know I lost my mind About a thousand times Because it could've been easy You know it could've been easy
I know I'm not the only one who listened to ya Billie Jean, baby please, he's a criminal Maybe if I was young, unpredictable He's got her heart and I
And I want it all back, and I And I want it all back, and I And I want it all back, and I And I want it all back, and I And I want it all back, and I And I want it all back, and I And I want it all back, and I (want it all) And I want it all (want it all)Background story: www.thefader.com/2018/05/02/now-now-mj-new-song

^^Speaking of which, there's this cool song called 1999 that I've been really into recently. There's a small MJ mention in there lyrically around 1:25 too, but the whole video is cool

It's funny how time plays tricks on you as you get older. Looking back I can't believe that it was only 9 years between Thriller & Dangerous.
When you think he's been gone 9 years and how quickly that has flown, in the same time period at the time you had:
The full Thriller campaign, 9 singles, the films, making of The Victory album & Tour The Bad campaign with 8 singles, films and the tour
Yet at the time it seemed that the next album would never come & Michael was renowned for taking so long between projects.

Yeah, I guess it's a case of time feeling longer when you're younger. A six week summer holiday used to feel like an eternity. 5 years at secondary school felt like forever. These days, five years ago feels like last Sunday.

When you’re 50, it’s only 1/10.

"And if you want to see Eccentrialities I'll be grotesque Before your eyes" - Is it scary
Is it not supposed to be Eccentricities? I don't think Eccentrialities is a real word.

Seems like we all hear it differently. I always thought it was:
"And if you want to see, eccentric oddities"

In a similar vein though, I was never sure about: 'You're so damn dis-respectable' - Tabloid Junkie (always thought it should be disrespectful, but it seems both are words) 'Neglection can kill' - Little Susie (always thought it should be neglect, but apparently neglection is a rarely used version also. Who knew!

Who knew! I think dis-respectable means someone who is not worthy of respect ,whereas disrespectful is someone being rude. So I guess MJ is saying that those bitches dont deserve his respect. We used to play a game when I was a child. We would say a certain world countless times until the word kind of lost its meaning and started sounding absurd. It works well with longer words. Dis-respectable is one of those words.
