Okay, I gave Madame X another few listens and it's opened up to me a bit. Infact, quite a lot. God Control and Dark Ballet are stunning, quirky, offbeat and unsettling in the best possible way. Medellin was always a great song, I also really enjoy Looking For Mercy, Crazy and Come Alive. Killers Who Are Partying reminds me of something that would sit comfortably on either BS or ROL. I really enjoy it musically, although the virtue signaling in the lyrics is a bit tedious. Overall, it's a much better album than I had initially given it credit for. And you've got to admire her for not playing it safe ala Kylie. Medellin is easily in my Top 20 M songs ever. I also love Bitch, I'm Loca, Faz Gastoso and Crazy. Most of the rest I can do without (Dark Ballet and God Control are interesting). But like most M albums, if I can still get a handful of amazing tracks then I'm more than happy |

And the video too was really cool, like a halloween carnival wedding/orgy. Looked amazing. I like Faz Gostoso, but Bitch I'm Loca is the easily the worst on the album. I'm still getting to know the album properly after having previously written it off, but it's getting better with each listen. Don't you like Looking For Mercy? It's stunning. Infact, I'd say it's probably my second favourite album of hers. Other than Bedtime Stories I can't think of a Madonna album where I don't want to skip at least a handful of songs. The only skipper on MX is Bitch I'm Loca, the rest is all good-great. Top 5: 1. Looking For Mercy 2. Medellin 3. I Rise 4. Come Alive 5. Crave But I genuinely like all of it. |

even though Micheal and Madonna had disagreements and was two different people. like the fact she still defends Michael. she a few people who hasn't jumped the bandwagon yet.

in my opinion this should be it for her. it was said she wasn't feeling good first time back on stage. i think it's time to retire.

Must watch//listen. Funny enough I love God Control and Dark Ballet. Really different album. Repeated listens really pay off for this album. Crazy would've been a huge hit if released in 2000. One thing I do find though is, the album has too many featured artists. A song like Crave for example really doesn't need Swae Lee in it - it'd actually be a better song without him on it. It's Fats all over again. I'm due a relisten actually. |
