Sounds like a good plan, you're lucky you can get out at lunches!
Do you run many hills? I'm doing my long runs on the mountain as that pays off so much for speed/pace/endurance later on.
When is your next race?

When is your next race? October for 10m I know I should do hills but can't bring myself to do it. Plus I have no hills as beautiful as you do so there's less motivation!

Been going on my cross trainer pretty consistently this week. I'm basically starting from zero again as my motivation to do anything comes and goes like the wind. Still finding how quickly I get exhausted a struggle. Really demotivating and makes me not do as much as I want because of how uncomfortable I end up feeling. Been doing stretches before going on recently as well and that helps a little.

Been doing stretches before going on recently as well and that helps a little. I was in the exact same boat as you a few weeks ago. I was finding it very hard to compare where I am to where I was this time last year, and I really struggled to want to get out on the road and do a few miles. Bit by bit it got easier, and once I felt the difference it all fell back into place and I got into the swing of it again. So like you I hated the uncomfortable feeling, and after a few days that discomfort started to fade. Fair play for getting back at it though, it's tough as hell to get dressed for a session let alone do one.

@innuendo141 your run yesterday was ridiculously good.
I've been in London all weekend so couldn't manage my full run.
Will need to start to increase to 15m next weekend I think.

Thanks Tony, but I couldn't stop eating for love nor money yesterday after it! I am fighting off a cramp all day today though which has upset my week as I didn't want to take my rest day so early this week as I will be up to 20m this weekend (same mountain route plus added miles). How's the weather looking for a 15m for you at the weekend? Saturday and Sunday looking wet but only 18 deg C which is fine.

Can definitely feel it. But no pain from knee. Midweek run and/or turmeric supplements definitely helping. Yeah it's quite rural where we are so nice routes. Not as nice as yours though, I get very jealous of your coastal routes.

My coastal routes are done for this year, that's our holiday place. It's just me, the dual carriageway and the mountain from here on in. I've signed on to do the few cross country races with the club, first one on sunday week so I need to nail some speed. My 400s yesterday werent too bad. Yeah sweet, your should be sore but not "sore sore". No knee pain is good. My 20 miler is tomorrow. Dreading it!

Just crying my eyes out at the moment watching Tom Jones singing on The Voice. Savage morning for a 20 miler. Went great EXCEPT.... for the fact that I got curious and tried a lovely new route and didn't end up at my water stop until mile 18 so I'd say I burned nicely into my muscles today! Absolutely shattered and knackered now but delighted to have that done. Might pull back on the long runs by a few miles for the next 2 weeks to ensure I don't risk injury at the XC race. I've fallen asleep 4 times trying to watch a 20 min episode of something. It's beautiful.

Do all you runners run with music? There's not a cat in hell's chance I could run without it. I can't that often, it's too much of a distraction. Maybe once a week I'll bring music if I have an easy run to do. Loved reading ye'r posts, didn't realise exactly what ye were into. I started running sparodically in 2014, when I did my first 6 mile race. Didn't run for months, then signed up for a half marathon. Did OK, but more importantly, I enjoyed it. Ran my first marathon in Tralee in 2015 almost killing myself in the process. My first marathon time was 4 hours 15 minutes. My last marathon in April of this year was in Vienna where I ran 2 hour 54 minutes and 52 seconds. It's been a long road (literally) but I absolutely love running. I train 6 days a week, being coached by one of the best marathon runners in Ireland (albeit, not in person). My average week is Monday - 8 miles easy Tuesday - Speed session/intervals around 8 miles Wednesday - 8 miles easy Thursday - 10 miles at pace/tempo Friday - Rest Saturday - 13-18 miles, easy or pace Sunday - 9 miles easy I incorporate yoga into my weekly training, because otherwise, I'd be crippled. I'm currently trying to get to race weight which is a couple of pounds under 140. My next race is a half marathon at the end of the month, so my weight at the minute is OK. Although part of a running club, I have been training on my own for 2 years now. The club was small, and I pulled away from the others making going to training pointless- hence why I pay for coaching. I'm in the middle of transferring to another very competitive club which I'm looking forward to doing! I'm running the Frankfurt Marathon on October, which will be my 29th Marathon. I ran this in 2016 and I was on course for my first sub 3 hgour marathon, when I collapsed at the entrance of the finishing arena, 500 metres to go. Went down for around 2 minutes, couldnt get up. Managed to hobble over the line. I have unfinished business in Germany! HIStory is my go to song. I am not sending nudes. Being on holidays this week means trying not to eat so much, so I'll be looking to you guys to help! Just reread this post. Brilliant. Your routine is immense and can't believe you only started in 2014. Mind you that sounds like yesterday but is 8 years ago.

Absolute run from hell this morning.
Tried for 10m. I knew as soon as I set off something wasn't right. Felt slow and panicky.
Stopped after 3m and never recovered. Managed to get to 6 and mainly walked back. Still walking now.
Feel like I've nothing left. Could cry.
Think mix of not sleeping properly and not enough to eat yesterday.
Just awful. Can't wait to get in. Makes you question it all.
