Ha! I could never do that time. Another 15 mins off is about 7.15 a mile which is for mentalists only. 1.35 is 5 mins quicker tho innit Ah, damn typo I was 1hr 49 not 39. Please don't lose any respect for me.

First ever singles gold medal yesterday. 1st male 35s, 5k cross country. Bloody buzzing/in bits. Tough slog of a course. Also the fact I hadn't been consistently training. Delighted.

Over the last good while, I've been doing the acid watchers diet as I have silent reflux which is a pain in the ass!
The other day I noticed I was actually physically slimmer and felt lighter too. Sure enough, I'd lost a stone. Loads more energy too and my symptoms are increasingly under control.
Next step is to gradually increase workouts with the aim of building some muscle on this still skinny frame!
My intention wasn't to lose weight and my sole focus was my silent reflux. Better that way.
I only eat organic, naturally occurring foods and no sweets, biscuits, cakes or other unnatural foods. No caffeine in tea, no fizzy drinks and definitely no alcohol. I mainly drink water - loads of it! Have done since 2016.
Zero processed foods. Lots of protein and fibre along with a good helping of carbs from sweet potatoes and suchlike. Wholewheat cereal and pasta too. Zero sauce with pasta - 45g Wholewheat pasta, chestnut mushrooms and Asparagus is tasty! Bit of sea salt.
Make my own power bars too - dates, almonds and peanut butter. Freezer for 30-40mins to harden it and then in fridge. Easy!

Sounds very expensive? Fair play!

Sounds very expensive? Fair play! I'm well in the swing of it momentum wise and if I'm tempted to reach for convenience foods or sweets....I just remind myself my cough is a sign of damage to my throat. You can't feel a thing except coughing which is why they call it silent reflux. To begin with, it's expensive but I reuse much of it anyway. Fish is the most expensive part considering how much I eat! Tonight's dinner will be pureed butternut squash soup with seared chestnut mushrooms and thyme. Prep and cooking is 35 mins. Tomorrow's breakfast is banana oatmeal with pecans and coconut flakes. A very quick dinner I recommend is lemon herbed salmon on a bed of spinach. I usually put broccoli and sweet potatoes with it. Tasty, filling and quick - 20 mins for me now!

Sounds very expensive? Fair play! I must say I haven't found it particularly expensive in the long run to make everything from scratch. It's really other things that's more expensive, especially this month! I now make my own turkey burgers and have a wee press to get consistent sizes. Turkey mince and various veg in it - plenty of protein! It tends to last me several days at a time as well. Today, I'll be perfecting my burgers! Breakfast can be crepes with blueberry filling on my days off - a homemade. Working days it's banana oats with pecan nuts chopped and in almond milk over a pan. Filling! It's all high in protein as I need it to heal my throat, but it helps muscle growth too. I've started following some 10 min workouts on Netflix too. I start with yoga for flexibility before moving on to HIT ladder. Increased from 10 to 20 mins. Planning to increase to 30 mins and beyond gradually also. Main goal is building muscle now I'm down to 10 and a half stone. Momentum is key, especially with a diet making everything from scratch. Motivation is just a spark for it all.

AND: Stick with the process, trust in it and keep working when other people aren't. In the long run, it's you who will reap the benefits! Not them.

Here's a low quality pic of my power bars made of chopped dates & almonds with two teaspoons of 100% natural peanut butter. I put them in freezer for a good while then in fridge. Can pick up like a bar then. These are filling and full of protein. Doesn't take long to make either!

I have started exercising regularly again. Don't know how long it'll last but I've been going for few weeks now, lol.
