Got a snap of the XC trophy we retained this year earlier this month, Intermediate Mens County. They fucked up the results on the day so couldn't hand out medals. 2nd year in a row we've won the trophy and won't even touch it! My 2nd gold medal there too. Very proud of this one as I had no speedwork done and had to dig incredibly deep to place in our top 4 helping seal the top team place. 6th overall male.

Cheers. My official time is screwed as my chip didn't go off. Bastard. So probably was under 1.19 Wha? That's bollocks, especially as I know UK events are far from cheap? Did my last 20 miler yesterday. Sweet Jesus I'm in bits Looks like my run from Marathon to Athens could have the same ending for me as it did Pheidippides. (spoiler, he died). Honestly, I've done fuck all training for this, which is making it a little more exciting. A few weeks ago I could have coasted a 3.30/3.40 marathon but yesterday after several weeks of doing shag all the 20 miler did hit hard (regardless of the fact I'm still including the mountain in my long runs). This will be my first marathon since my very first one that I'm severely unprepared for but I'm getting an absolute thrill out of the idea of heading out and doing 26.2 without the proper preparation. Feels like a completely different challenge. I've done so many at "easy" pace that the idea of training for this just faded over time. This will basically be my first training run for the ultra marathon in April but I couldn't give a toss how fast or well I do. Athens has been on my list for so long so I just can't wait to see all the gods and stuff who I assume appear throughout the race. Surely? Also, I'm trying to convince my girlfriend that a trip to Lewa in South Africa would be amazing as I came across this picture a few weeks ago and I can't stop thinking about how it must be the greatest race on the planet. That's a giraffe. Feels like the giraffe has an unfair advantage.

It can but I find running 24/48 hours while can be painful, does help shake out the legs. Very easy pace of course. But yeah, bodies differ and the body differs at different times etc. Fair play though. I did lots of walking with the dogs is all. Back at it and watching all food from tomorrow. 3 week bootcamp.

Jesus Christ...is Runner's Guilt a thing?
Haven't been for a week as my head isn't right and can't stop beating myself up for it.

Go for a short run, maybe 2 or 3 and then ease back into your usual thing. But the guilts a bitch. But imaginary. Lifes too short.

Amazing Tony. Absolutely amazing. I surprised myself with such little training done, but to do that time at my "easy" pace. I'm so so happy. Couldnt have been better. It was so well supported the entire way. I'm absolutely buzzing. That's what running on hills does for you. I literally ran a long run on a hill every week the past few months and did fuck all else. Miles 10 through 20 were uphill today, so it made all the difference.
Also, this city is actually beyond amazing

So re-energized. Think I'll book the Rome marathon for March.
Honestly, Athens guys. It's good for the soul.
