Tough disappointing day in Tullamore yesterday. First race in 5 months and it never got going. Knew by the halfway mark that the wheels were gone. One of those days. Should have been going for my first sub 1.20 for a half marathon. Still dont know what went wrong. Onwards and upwards though, can only go up from here. Stings though. Ive always done well here. Official time was 1.25.58

Not to worry Nigel. Might be a good thing to help you refocus. You still went out and ran man. Health and fitness can be fine margins I guess.
‘TonyR drags his hungover ass into the gym and vomits on treadmill’ I hope you’re proud of yourself! 😂 Fair play mate. That’s dedication!

You still went out and ran man. And that is the most important thing I reckon, so good on ya! As for me, I’ve been going to the gym 4 times a week for the past month now and I’m stoked. I’ve found just having it as part of my routine helps immensely - last week I kind of broke it as on Monday I only got 2 hours of sleep so I didn’t go for the first time. Then I ended up not going on Wednesday for whatever reason. Was really annoyed at myself so I got up super early on Thursday - which is normally a rest day - and went to the gym anyway to make up. By Friday, I was back in the routine and have been since (hell I’ll be back there this time in 6-7 hours). Lost a good few KGs (almost back into the 60s!) and I swear I’m kinda seeing a bit of a difference in my tummy fat already! I think? Perhaps a placebo effect? Who knows. Who cares, it’s making me feel better and that’s the main thing! Glad to see you’re all doing well too.

Thanks and well done HIStoric. I had my first PT session on Thursday and was back in the gym Friday morning for a bit of cardio and a yoga class. I ended up having a small swim also. Was meant to be back yesterday morning for another PT session but had to cancel as I didn’t get enough sleep. I’m thinking of going back this evening for some cardio and a swim, and I’m back tomorrow afternoon at 5 for another PT session. I’ve only had 5 and a half hours sleep and am cold from tiredness so should probably leave it today but my addictive personality -I use that term loosely- is making me want to go. My stomach is up and down, fluctuating with food I guess but there’s slight changes and I realise I won’t have a dream body over night, but over a long period of time with consistency.
My 2 arms were hanging off me on Friday but the yoga helped, and I was even in more pain yesterday. Had a hot bath. I was told that good quality sleep is a big part of it which I find difficult. Tonight I really need to get between 7 or 9 hours of sleep. Also, my diets been ok but I need to structure it better.
Well done guys.

aazzaabb what's it like with the PT? I really need to change my routine up as am always doing the same exercises at the gym. There's a lot of machines I don't know how to use so tend to stay in my comfort zone.

HIStoric , well.....my wife’s niece had a baby girl so I ended up in the hospital. 😃 I was way too tired for the gym anyway so it was for the best. Also had a McDonald’s on the way home. Fuck it, it was part of my recovery. 😎 TonyR , I was back at 6pm today for my 2nd PT. What was it like? Well I almost puked from it 😂 but I feel great after it now. He had me flipping long ropes, flipping a big box, standing inside the box and carrying it, jumping on and off a platform, press-ups, lifting a weighted bag over my head and slamming it on the floor, lifting some free weights and lifting a weighted bar. The PT was about 50 minutes but a real solid workout. After that I was finished but swam a few lengths -I didn’t count but about 10-, 20 minutes in jacuzzi resting and 10 minutes in the steam room. When I got home I had a meal of protein drink -chi latte- chicken, rice and green veg. I’m definitely going to feel it tomorrow.

It’s good to have someone pushing you and directing the workout. You just have to roll up and do your best.

This week:
Monday: circuit Tuesday: bodypump Wednesday: gym Thursday: circuit Friday: kettlebells Saturday: 20/20/20 Sunday: gym
I've really lost my running urge which is shit as the weather has been good for it. Need to get my mojo back.
Or do I? If I've not being enjoying it then why make myself...?
Can't decide.
Sea bass and stir fried veg for dinner.
