In Frankfurt for my race tomorrow. Will be spending my entire day in my hotel room with a backlog of comics and NIN music. Mad to think it's finally come. Its been a long year!

I ran 2.50.18 in the Frankfurt Marathin which is an almost 5 minute personal best... I can't believe it! The last time I raced here, I collapsed with 300m to go, just missing out on my first sub 3 hour marathon. I think it was all down to the DJ blasting Black or White at the start line π I'm off to sit down and die now

Wow! Congratulations! I admire long distance runners. I myself hate running, though. LOL.

Thanks! Will take a few days before I decide what I'm to do next. Bit emotional right now. Tears in the Rain from the Blade Runner 2049 OST is quite good when your have tears in the rain. Who knew.

Speaking of BR2049, Sea Wall is an absolutely fantastic track. One night I was driving home on the motorway, and the rain was absolutely HAMMERING down as that track was playing through my stereo speakers. I felt like I was in the scene from the movie tbh, very atmospheric!
Definitely relax and treat yourself mate. You deserve it

Incredible stuff. πππΌπ¨π»βπ€πΊπΌππΌββοΈ Iβve fallen off the wagon and have been eating fast food, takeaways and chocolate. I need to get back swimming and the gym. Itβs so hard to take that first step back. Iβll have to use your achievement as motivation.

How's everyone keeping fit during wave 2 and lockdown if you're locked down?
I was really getting into the HIIT and Bodypump classes again so gutted gyms are closed.
But we've put a timetable together to do them at home and sort of managing to keep to that routine.
It really does make me feel better when I've made myself do something.
I'm really going to try and get back into running. Nothing dramatic just 3 to 5k. Just to get outside, stick on a playlist and feel a bit free.

I was doing well during the summer, got within 3 seconds of my best 5k time during off season but with no races I found it very hard to stay motivated. I decided to run a marathon around my village last month and was surpised at how fit I was considering the lack of training I did, but since then it's been one thing after the next. Back running as of last week but only 30 miles. Hoping to increase that to 40 this week, with the intention of doing another marathon around the village Christmas weekend (a virtual one) just to give myself something to focus on. We were supposed to have cross country championships at the start of November but they obviously were postponed. Not sure when the next race will be. I'm registered for Rome marathon in April which there's no way will happen. I have found that a large part of me that keeps me motivated and in good humour is running and competing, so the lockdown has been very tough mentally but I'm not the only one!
