Hit 55 miles this week so very happy. Will be at 60+ this week, with a 20 miler planned for the weekend as the last long run before the marathon over Christmas. Yesterday was an example of music being a distraction. Wasn't too invested in my choice when setting out (King of Pop Deluxe) and found myself messing and swapping a lot for the first 45 mins/ hour. I wished I had left it at home. Once I hit the top of the mountain it was all good and finished the King of Pop album. Had a savage Chinese last night then to "recharge". I just wanted loads of food. I bet you did! How long do you do in one go?Distance, or time?

Distance. Don't tell me time as it'll be too upsetting. I do an average 8 miles for a normal run, then a long run at the weekend which at the minute is 16-20 miles, with 6-8 mile recovery the day after.

Surprised myself with 80 minutes today.
Think it was 8 miles but will check later on Map my Run.
Very pleased as I only picked running up again 3 weeks ago having done nothing for a couple of years save for a couple of short 2.5m ones in March.

Moreso that you enjoyed it than did it, because that's more important.

I'm just glad my body is coping also. I need to be careful not to overdo it. In other news, we seem to have adopted next door's cat who visits for hours on end.

Did a 5.5 miles evening run tonight.
Very rarely run in the evening amd not for years. It's actually pretty enjoyable, especially with all the Christmas lights on at the moment
Good for the soul.

Ah well done Tony. 10 miles is a serious run, and that's a fine time to do it in. How did you feel after? Give the body a good rest and make sure your next "short" run is a bit slower. I did my marathon yesterday. Hadnt really run in 3 weeks but decided to plough through. The mountain broke me, covered in ice. I've a very bad hip/left leg today but glad I took on the challenge before the year finished. Not having any races really makes it hard.

We did have a long walk in the afternoon yesterday which probably helped a lot. Will try a 3 or 4 miler tomorrow. Well done on that marathon. How big is the mountain?

1039 feet ish. X 2 Twin Peaks Marathon. Jesus Christ. Where do you live? On a Toblerone? It's the same hill. It was just as icy the second time, so you could get NO momentum on the way down either time. Robbery. Gorgeous view. I usually run up it once a week. (Once)
