I liked seeing Mark again but it seemed rather forced within the film, I don't have a problem with him coming back but in the film it felt rather strange to me. I actually expected him to have a bigger role, just because he had learnt the ability to force project, but also because he says “see you around kid” before he vanishes - implying it’s not the last Kylo sees of him ... but it is? I agree with a lot of what you say though.

Is this thing any good? Was gonna go watch this but can’t be bothered. It is disappointing when viewed in the context of the trilogy/saga, but there’s still things to enjoy about it. If you liked 7 and 8, I’d say go finish it.

I thought the force ghost special effects looked a bit unfinished in this one, maybe that's why I found it weird.

I just got back from seeing it with my sister. We both liked it way more than Last Jedi. I agree with others in here in that it felt WAY too fast-paced. It also felt like some stuff was missing/glossed over. However, I did like some of the twists in the film and the fight scenes were all really well done. I think it's as good of an ending to the trilogy as there could have been.

I would be keen for a Disney+ show with Adam Driver as Ben Solo.
Would have to make him look younger but it’s not like Disney are short on money or anything haha
Or Kylo Ren even. I honestly just wanna see more Adam Driver (on a slightly unrelated note, he’s great in Marriage Story too).

My coworker and I did the calculations and we realised Palpatine would've fathered his child in the decade AFTER Revenge of the Sith! So I feel sorry for whoever ended up sleeping with that wrinkly, deformed and decrepit old man (he must've used a mind trick surely!!) 😂 You know, him being the embodiment of evil with no redeeming qualities (unlike Vader), I can only imagine him fathering a child by rape. Definitely not in any type of love/romantic relationship. So maybe that's why his son turn out to be better than him. He was never raised by him, in fact, he probably hated him growing up (if he knew he was his father and what he did to his mother).
I could see it being through rape too, sadly... but maybe not in the way some might think. In Revenge of the Sith there's a scene where he's talking to Anakin about a Sith Lord named Darth Plagueis, and how he had the ability to create life and save his loved ones from death. Maybe Palpatine was able to learn this ability and use it to impregnate someone (and that person would be none the wiser, perhaps thinking they conceived with their partner), and then they gave birth to someone that would eventually have Rey?

I just bought this book which gives an insight into the relationship between Palpatine and Darth Plagueis.
I already said some time ago that rather than Solo etc. they should make a film (whether in the form of a theater film or a series) about the background of Palpatine. Would be far more interesting. I was told it would be "too dark" so it wouldn't be popular. Well, Solo wasn't very popular either. So maybe they should give it a try. The success of Joker tells me people don't mind movies at all that are focused on the bad guy and exploring his perspective, his motives etc.

Yeah, it is a good film. I didn't want to watch it because it has such a boring title, but then I saw the review on Film Family and it looked like better than its title. It is. Great acting by both Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson! I think it was Bigi who noted how many great acting performances we have seen this year - the Best Actor category at the Oscars next year will be full of masterful performances, it will be a tough choice.

Wow, Bigi is PISSED! LOL.
"Worst Star Wars movie ever", even "my least favorite movie of the year".

There was some good moments but it's clear it was rushed. People are pointing out stuff like the dialogue at the end with Kylo being muted (Rey is talking but there's no voice). And other editing stuff that looks like stuff was shuffled around. I kinda hope they release a longer cut of the film as its clearly two films smashed into one in the edit.
