My cousin, her husband and three kids all have it. The media is not reporting the true extent where I'm living. There are two reported cases in Devon, which were from my hometown, but my cousin lives in the next town on, which tells me the media are covering up how badly this is spreading.

I'm officially shitting myself now tbh If it makes you feel any better, if you do ever catch it, you have an extremely low chance of dying (unless you're elderly, which I know you're not hah).
These are the current mortality statistics, based off those officially published so far.
So if you catch it, seems like you're just in for a bad flu for a few weeks. Not desirable obviously, but it could be far worse I imagine.
I dont think the issue would be any of us getting it, but who we'd pass it on to unknowingly. A child, grandparent. Thats what scares me.

If my five relatives cases haven't been officially reported, how many more cases are there that we aren't being told about?

Devon cases are only just being reported now I think. That's my cousin they're reporting about. I find it reassuring that it's been reported, I was seriously worried the government/media were covering up the true number of cases.

Hopefully they will be of the vast majority who fight it off with no problem. I heard in children it tends to be mild. I wish them all well.

Quite funny really. First we find out its in Devon and you think "oh shit", then you learn that out of the 77 towns and villages in Devon, it's our hometown and you think "bloody typical" and then you find out it's in the family and you're like "figures."

4 more "in the west" here, which means they are being treated in the hospital beside where I work. The 4 had travelled back from North Italy. Let's see how long Ireland takes to catch up with the UK!

First two diagnosed cases were announced in Hungary too. They are Iranian university students.

If we survived influenza H1N1 which derives from the Spanish flu in 2009, the world will survive coronavirus. I hate when people have the doomsday mindset whenever these kind of outbreaks occur or it's me who refuses to succumb to panic and media manipulation and wants to be optimistic instead.
Anyways, I wish your cousin and her family a sooner recovery, Matty.
