We'll always have The Lost Children. Wow so you agree with that ridiculous comment?
Is this even a fan site? You're a mod and you're co-signing nonsense. I guess this forum isn't the place for me.
Kelley, I think you've missed the sarcasm in both mine and Tony's posts. I know I can speak for both myself and TonyR in stating that we both very much worship at the altar of MJ's genius.

He stole Come Together from The Beatles. And I don't for a second believe he had any input into Breaking News, yet he got a credit.

With your penchant for referring to members as "fonts", perhaps LSA is more your level....π€·ββοΈ I just thought this was an autocorrect thing. I quite liking taking words and completely changing their meaning on the internet.

Saying he wrote with John doesn't necessarily mean John helped compose it. He could have meant that he wrote it with John as in John was the person who played the instruments after Michael dictated the music by singing.
I swear you and some other fonts are seem eager to take credit away from Michael for his music. It's weird.
John Barnes has not even claimed centipede as far as I know.
The idea that Michael took credit just doesn't mesh with his character. he was overly generous with giving credit.
He himself is unccredited in so much stuff, like Rockwell's Somebody's watching you for example. And he never complained or demanded anything from people that he gave his talent to for free.
He gave Lionel credit for We are the world when he wrote most of it himself. He gave teddy Credit for Dangerous when it was mostly his song.
Most of these people making posthumous claims are credited on other songs. So was Michael was just greedy one day and generous the next? Was he bi-polar with his stealing? It makes no sense.
You're overeaching here and tying yourself in knots. From the Mexico deposition: "Atty 3: Have you ever written a song called Centipede? MJ: Yes. Atty 3: Do you know when? MJ: I donβt remember. Atty 3: Do you remember what year? MJ: No β co-wrote it.Atty 3: With whom? MJ: With whom? Atty 3: Yes. MJ: John Barnes."Michael was very clear here - Centipede was co-written with John Barnes who did confirm this a few years ago when I briefly asked him. Notice how Michael went on to correct himself? Barnes was not an arranger as you're suggesting. This was one of the things John planned to talk about along with the 2Seas recording sessions in the future. Unfortunately, John was never ready to talk about any of these things in detail because of how he still felt about Michael's passing. In general, if all you've got is speculation and zero evidence, expect to be dismissed without any likewise. Well I have a hard time believing John Barnes or any of these people would just let Michael take the credit for no reason.
I mean as much as people make up absolute lies and bullshit about Michael, and profit from it and get away with it.
There's no way these people would just let him do this and not say anything.
There is more to the story.
I read somewhere that Michael did some unaccredited work with Greg on Greg's own album. (which makes Greg's whining about the 15 seconds even more shady and suspect)
Perhaps he and John Barnes had a similar quid pro quo going on.
Fact is John Barnes never said anything about it when he was alive, so I don't know why you're offended on his behalf.
Obviously the way artists negotiate song writing credits is not always cut and dry, hence Teddy getting credit for Dangerous when according to Michael in that same deposition you keep posting about, He wrote Dangerous himself and teddy had nothing to do with it.
Michael did a lot of stuff for others that unaccredited received nothing in return. He also gave people credit on some of his songs that they didn't earn. But no one ever mentions that.
Clearly John Barnes had some type of agreement in place in regards to centipede, so why dwell in it?
I guess what I'm saying is, you shouldn't judge since you don't know how Michael and his associates operated.
None of these people complaining now get my support. Because again, they waited until the man was dead to make these claims. If they didn't have something to claim before he died, they should shut up.

Yet, you say Invincible is better than Bad π Since the survivor threads, I've reassessed my stance on that. I've changed it to Invincible is better than Dangerous. 1. HIStory 2. Thriller 3. Bad 4. Invincible 5. Dangerous 6. Off The Wall That's my current ranking. And it's not just to piss TonyR off, that's just an added bonus.

kelley all of us here do truly adore, love and support Michael. Many users on this forum have been fans for decades, went to concerts, vehemently defended him in 1993 and 2005, continue to do so to this day and yes, there's a certain banter and sarcastic tone that @mattyjam and TonyR have going on. Along with others. But as Matty wrote, it's all in good fun, there's no harm intended. Please don't feel unwelcome. Often jokes that are absurd are put in serious toned threads here so things don't get too heated as a bit of a tension breaker I suppose - because truthfully, at the end of the day we all love MJ to pieces
