Paul definitely comes across as rather grating when he's trying to move things along. I saw a Peter Jackson interview and he said the thing is him and George are both right in what they're saying, just that they can't come to a compromise over this particular issue due to the situation they have put themselves in. I tend to agree.

Was on my feet for the whole rooftop show.
No problem saying I cried a few times watching this.
I treasured every single minute.
God bless The Beatles.
The End.

And that shot of Paul at the beginning of Part 2 when he was contemplating how he was losing his creative partner of ~12 years to someone else, and he was just frozen, wrought with emotion... jeez. It froze me up too. I really felt for Paul in that moment.
I actually had to rewind this after the moment. God, it really changed the tone of the entire thing for me after that point (in a good way). I thought maybe it was me but I could have sworn he was shaking and he was. I felt it. It was like all the little things that had been building up inside of him finally went off at the same moment realising that they were really now at the edge of everything. I can't believe that moment was captured on camera! Yoko being there constantly wasn’t as bad as I thought. She keeps out of their creativity/banter but it must have been annoying to Paul. I don’t think Ringo is bothered. Ringo is such a chilled cat man. I love his vibe. George is on a different wavelength to Paul, as is John. But it’s understandable. When George says “We’ve been in a mood since Mr Epstein died” you really feel crushed for them. Within 2 minutes this was a major issue for me, and there's no way I'd have been able to work comfortably the way they carried on. I was always under the illusion that she was there, except sitting over by the side or keeping out of the way but absolutely not stuck to his hip 24/7! I don't like seeing photos of couples pull that shit, let alone be in the same room as one. That was such a huge compromise for McCartney to make, hats off to him for that. Linda stayed well out of the way 99% of the time. Her wailing is something else.

What really annoyed me was that Paul & Linda said that Yoko spoke for John when they were trying to resolve things with George. That crosses such a line. Yoko should not have even been in the room let alone speak on John’s behalf. Billy Preston has just arrived now and the entire sessions have just lifted so much.

I'd have smothered her with a tea towel. Oh you're not finished! Oh yeah. Billy completely ignites the room a million percent.

I think Paul summed it up fine when he said it's not his place to say if John invites yoko or not, it's his choice. It was probably annoying but Paul seems to have a clearer head than a lot of fans do when it comes to Yoko.

Well there's having a clear head, and being able to tolerate that kind of display from any couple whoever they are. Paul is a saint for making that compromise. Any couple acting like that is pathetic, but then again they were on heroin so she could very well have felt that she ABSOLUTELY needed to sit as if she was sellotaped to John at all times, instead of going "shit, this is quite tense. Perhaps I should knit over here 2 metres away?". Regardless, it's all part of the story now. You take Yoko out of Twickenham or Apple and maybe a slight ripple effect could have lead to us never getting Let It Be or Abbey Road.

I guess we just disagree on our outlook of what went on. I don't think Paul was being a Saint by being a rational normal-headed person.

I think he was being a saint because of exactly how hard it would be to be a rational normal headed person in that situation, given how irrational John and Yoko were acting given the circumstances. That's not even bringing the whole "Yoko talking for John" into the situation. But yeah, we'll just disagree there on that one. Getting back to the more positive stuff though, I absolutely loved the part where Ringo was talking to Michael (I think) and Paul was playing the piano, and he said "I could watch him play for an hour". Ringo seems like such a nice guy. Another tiny moment I loved was his little salute to the lady giving out the tea the morning he arrived to Twickenham alone.

It was probably annoying but Paul seems to have a clearer head than a lot of fans do when it comes to Yoko. I’m not sure. I think Paul was just being very diplomatic and aware that the cameras were rolling. I’m pretty sure Yoko’s being there annoyed him but Paul being the consummate professional remained impartial. I mean he said that if it comes to The Beatles or Yoko, John would choose Yoko. So Paul is aware of what’s going on but still wants to keep the band in tact and move the project forward. Personally I think it’s a little obnoxious that Yoko is constantly at John’s side even in the console room when the group is listening to playbacks. I mean Linda and Patti weren’t glued to Paul and George and I would imagine Paul and George wouldn’t allow it.

I’ve finished episode two. Regarding Paul’s feelings towards Yoko being there; @smoothgansta, Smooth you may have a point mate. Towards the end of the sessions Paul and John seem in a good place. Their as close to each other as George and Ring are to one another. Things mellowed a lot when they left Twickenham and Billy Preston rejuvenated John and George to the point where they became visibly excited for the songs and enthusiastic. So he was a god send and lifted the songs to a greater place. All of a sudden George is saying release Get Back as a single immediately. “We’ll cut it tonight and it can be pressed tomorrow” or words to that effect.
My main takeaway from these episodes is that these songs mean more to me now than they ever did before. I’ve always liked the album that was released and that’s including the Spector overdubs. Frankly it’s never bothered me, but… they could have made a masterpiece had they been able to get their act together. I’ve Got A Feeling, Don’t Let Me Down and Get Back although came quite easily were difficult to perfect given the way tensions were but have grown in stature for me.
What they achieved despite the strain on their relationships and Paul’s work ethic is so much more meaningful after watching this.

I've always had a funny relationship with Let It Be. I've always been firmly in the Let It Be Naked camp as I really didn't like the Spector additions on Let It Be and Winding Road but my opinion had softened in the past few years and the pendalum was swinging. I got the Deluxe Let It Be box this year, and I've enjoyed it much more than any of the previous 3 but after seeing Get Back, it's completely transformed what I think about all the versions. I've been mainly listening to to the Glyn John's Get Back album which I now LOVE. Seeing just how much love and effort went into these songs through ALL their obstacles. Just mind blowing. Imagine going into record Abbey Road and all these tunes were just laying there on tapes unreleased yet!
